Anyone finished interviewing with HBS and falling into this rabbit hole of continue thinking about how you could’ve done better during the interview?
I had my interview on Monday, felt it went fine - but writing the post interview reflection and thinking back did make me realize that there are definitely several questions that I rushed to answer. If I had paused for 5 seconds, I should’ve been able to provide a more structured and insightful answer (even though pausing and thinking is probably very hard to do during the interview given the tension).
Anyone has any suggestions on how to deal with this gnawing feeling (which is very demotivating - I have no motivation to work or do anything now lol), and how to survive this long 1-month wait until the notification date in December?
First of- do not get defensive about yourself while writing that reflection. People make mistakes, HBS knows it- they need to know that perfection is an illusion and the adcom is aware of it. Now that said, my take- personally- is more assertive in these situations as HBS is not looking for Anxious leaders, they are looking for leaders comfortable enough to make mistakes and brush it off if it is something minor. So get into that zone of considering yourself an HBS leader who knows he/other will make the difference in the world and the loss will be that of the school should they miss out on you. HBS loves people who are not desperate for them- weirdly opposite phenomenon than others schools where schools want you to show desperation to maintain their yield. Desperation is not to be confused with misaligned interests or disinterest in the school though***
Ohk this seems like a perfect occasion and place to announce this. I did it when I was launching the 1.0 model that later led to design the standard flagship plan at MBA Conquerors (2.0).
This R2, realizing that HBS MBA Applications deviate a lot from the standard process and plans and requires specific tools to create the applications, we are planning to launch a separate model (4.0) that is more driven to the leadership testing carried out by HBS (and a very few other schools). To create this model we need some feedback. We have seen promising success from MBA Conquerors flagship for HBS (thanks to being a moderator here and extensive resources at GMAT Club that allowed me to create something that complements the resources here). To make it even more refined, we’re conducting a more feedback driven testing in R2 for HBS applicants. Hence for this R2 only, we are allowing a group of people to get the MBA Conquerors flagship for HBS completely free which will have new elements created to make it more HBS specific. No hidden fees, no agendas, just a condition that you’d be providing constant feedback through the process and meet the terms so the new elements we have added can show some promise. Our Stanford Model (3.0) is already live and definitely showed success.
