The thing is, advice on gmat club are essentially stats-oriented, since those are the only information we can objectively assess here. And because of that, they could be very misleading

No one can tell. But Indian applicants have exceptionally high test scores.

You need something else in your profile to make up for the gap between you and them. It could be your WE, your ECs etc.

Non profit yes, I am not sure what non salary means.
As long as it's full time work experience it should.
Otherwise you may mail the adcom seeking clarification

Unfortunately 340 might not be good enough to nail the HBS MBA, I am sorry to say this. India is always an over-represented demographic.
In 8-years of work experience if your career trajectory is packed with promotions, displaying leadership competencies, international exposures etc., you might be a good candidate to try HBS provided you have a score of around 333+ in GRE.

Yes. B schools preach in inculcating the diversity in their classrooms like anything.
Expectation: a case study business problem gets a resolution perspective from a Nigerian medicine doctor, an Indian engineer and a Nepali management consultant.
So, diversity is screened at profile level and country level as well.

I saw an Indian candidate getting rejected with 740 from Insead but a different Nepali candidate admitted to the same school with just 690.
