Hey Guys !!

Good to see that the slots have started opening ......So about 50% slots are approximately there for the offing ~400 ???

Can some old-timer tell if the no. of slots are EQUAL to the no of invites that have been dished out on Friday ? Or is it possible that some extra slots have been given for the ease of making choices to the invitees? What i mean is that -- Is it possible that even though about 400 odd slots have been opened, the no of invitees are somewhere around the 300 or so mark??

Maybe, one of the invitees can recheck sometime in the night (EST) & let us know as to how many slots have actually been filled up? Since the slot fore-warning had been given, I expect the majority of the invitees to have booked their slots today itself ... So we should get a fairly good idea !!

Also, can someone be kind enough to check on the 63 mumbai/shanghai slots that are available & let us know as to what are the DATES that have been alloted for the interviews !??!

Thanks in advance ....... Sam

Thanks Emont, for letting us know you got an invite today despite the Director's blog. Off to the Inbox!

Read more carefully - Emont received an invitation on Friday, which was followed up by the email today containing links to pick a time slot.

Thanks Matt3030. I got that clarified from emont's post above. :o

Any aspirants from Canada here?

I am Canadian. Waitingggggggg for Lady Luck to shine on me before it is Feb 16.

Don't want to make people feel bad, I do myself as I haven't receive any interview invite last friday :( , but by re-reading the message sent to the guys who received an interview, I just keep focusing on the sentences "we are sending this message in advance " and "we hope this advance notice is helpful to you".
Maybe those invites were sent to all the applicants that are not based in Boston? (US and Internationals) And by tomorrow the remaining invites will be only for the applicants living in Boston and therefore not needing any advance notice?

What do you guys think? :?

Can anyone from past years or past rounds confirm whether the Invite email is identical regardless of when it it sent out?

That would go towards what I am fearing... first waves of invites are for thoses who HAVE TO travel to take their interview (people like "Emont" or "wjjw") .... being international I suppose it will be a D.. I...N ...G ... for me :(

if you read her blog post for round 1 - that they are going to do it differently this year and send the invitations as the applications are reviewed meaning that they are going to send the invitations EARLIER than they would have in the years before, you would know that you still have a good chance of getting an interview. :)

instead of making everyone to wait for the 16th they are sending them in smaller bulks.

and from what i see on the forums here they have no particular order for reviewing the apps.

now, someone posed a great question - were all the interview slots in r1 filled for the first wave of the interviews (and therefore correlate with the number of the invitations sent) or some were left for the next wave?

Good luck for tomorrow afternoon and the days following...tell us if you hear anything!

Wow, the online scheduling page is dynamic, it changes!

Some slots disappear, while new slots are openning up. I identified 4 extra slots for London and 8 extra slots for Paris ... But as I was absent during several hours from the page, I may have missed newly opened slots that already disappeared!

All the still-available-slots are in Paris (even newly added slots in London have been taken!), including the 8 newly added slots and 4 others.

I guess they are doing this to prevent us from over-analysing the situation of invites.

You all might as well be worrying about double rainbows. Either you get an invite (congrats!) or you don't (it'll be ok, HBS is not a prerequisite for - nor guarantee of - professional or personal success). Sitting around counting interview slots is just CrAzY. Enjoy life and let it ride, worrying is as effective as trying to solve a Data Sufficiency question by chewing bubblegum.

One love,

Bubba

most of us (hopefully) aren't hyper-analyzing the situation - we're just trying to gauge the percentage of invites already given out.

based on the above information, at least 250 interviews have been scheduled today around the world. if there are approximately 800 total R2 invites, then more than 30% of the invitations have been sent.

what do you all think? are there 500+ more interview invites?

I suspect some people may have a life/job and not sign up to these things at exactly 12:01pm. Better to wait for someone to do a count later tonight or early tomorrow morning.

I find this whole thread is not really about interviews but stress. Really nothing we do now have any impact on whether we get an invite. That being said, I would pay good money to get someone to erase my memory in the last four days and tell me that only 10% has gone out.

I'm Canadian. I received my invite on Friday, scheduling details email today, and just scheduled my interview. I will interview on-campus, but it seemed that I had access to all hub city options (unlike some previous posters, who had only certain cities available). There were a lot of slots available on-campus, but it seemed that a lot of the mid-morning times were already booked.

I'm a round 2 Australian applicant. I didn't receive an interview yet however about 20 mins ago I received an email suggesting I apply to two HBS Australian fellowships, and should I apply the deadline is Feb 11.

At least they know I exist, right?!

Based on where the interview HUBS are

Boston, MA (on the HBS campus)
Menlo Park, CA
New York, NY
Dubai, UAE
London, UK
Mumbai, India
Paris, France
Sao Paulo, Brazil
Shanghai, China

You might be able to argue that the next waves of invites will go to people in the Asia Pacific and Japan e.g. NZ, Australia and South East Asia?

Would they really make the AP guys travel to China??
