I received the same email a few minutes ago. I just noticed the spelling error as well: "Interviewwed". It made me laugh....I guess during this stressful time I'll take a little laugh anywhere I can get it, even if it is at HBS adcom.

But more seriously, does this mean they haven't even started reading some of the applications yet?

I got the same message, and I have an interview invitation. It is probably just a mass distribution to every applicant.

That's disappointing. I thought receiving the email meant your application had not been reviewed yet so the fact that you haven't received an interview call yet was not necessarily a bad sign. But if they sent the email even to people whose application they HAVE reviewed and invited to interview, it was a mass email sent to everyone. There is no way of knowing if your application has been reviewed and passed up on or has not been reviewed yet.

I just received this too (~20 min ago). I don't have an interview yet but seeing as people with interviews already (gobig2011) received the email as well, this probably isn't much of an indication one way or the other. Let's just wait two hours for the next wave...

i think instead of pacifying us..the email has made us all more tense!! i can't believe they're sending that email out out to folks that have already received interviews too!

Hey, don't give up on it so quickly.

I did follow the 'instruction' in the email and checked out the Director's Page. It says:

"Another Note About Round 2 Interviews
Date: February 07, 2011

We still have a significant number of interview invitations to send out - but we aren't sending any out today. Our plan is to send out some on Tuesday afternoon and more throughout the next week, up to February 16. Again, no hidden signals in the timing of when these go out. Really."

So let's continue to keep refreshing our mailboxes in the afternoon.

At least receiving this email now means our interview invitation will not end up in our Junk Mail in the afternoon. :p

Dee's blog says some invites will go out Tuesday and then the rest will keep coming. So sounds like it's gonna be one hell of a week leading up to the 16th.

The unnerving wait reminds me of Alexandre Dumas' famous novel - The Count of Monte Cristo ... Ultimately all things in life can be brought down to 2 basic words ... WAIT AND HOPE!

The fact that Dee went through the effort to write two blog posts and mass distribute the same message tells me that there really ARE significant number of invites to come.
