Is it a good idea to go to admit weekend for all the schools that admit you?

If you're undecided between two or more similar schools, yes. There's no need to visit your safety schools if you get into one of your top choices, but if you get into both your #1 and #2 (or #1 and #1A) then it's probably worth going to the admit weekends to help you make your decision.

Well, it depends on whether I get into HBS or not. Unfortunately, Kellogg and HBS are separated by a few weeks, so just the prospect of visiting both can be pretty expensive. I was hoping I'd be able to lump them both in on one trip - but I guess that's just a pipe dream.

Many many of us are on edge :-D This is a looooooong week. Good luck to everyone in R2.
BTW, does HBS call its admits, or is it a mass wave of emails?

A wave of e-mails goes first. After all e-mails are out, they may call the admits to congratulate them (a day or days after the e-mail goes out).

The email gives you a link to your online application where there is a decision notification document. You can go crazy refreshing I guess but I found that the email is sent pretty much right when the status is updated so there really isn't a lag.

I understand how anxious you all are. I couldn't sleep the night before December 14, and spent all morning ignoring people and emails and calls. My dad called me at 11:45am and asked "Have you heard yet?" I curtly told him he'd know when I did and hung up. The way HBS makes applicants log-on to find their decisions is somewhat cruel. I was actually reading this thread when someone first posted "Ding"...and then another, and then another. That's when I checked my gmail and saw the email from HBS Admissions with the subject line "HBS Admissions Decision Available Online", I clicked on the link to apply yourself, logged-in, and saw in the bottom a link titled "Your decision is available". I won't ruin the surprise after that, but suffice it to say, when the letter popped-up, my eyes were drawn to a hyperlink in blue midway through the third paragraph and I screamed "Oh fck yes!!!!!" and pumped my fist. Good luck everyone.

Lol, that takes me back to that moment as well. It was probably a scene mirrored like 400 times over around that world at that very moment. I didn't tell my parents about when I was finding out but for sure I called them soon after. BubbaWon, I look forward to meeting you later this fall if I didn't already run into you at ASW! eskimoroll, I look forward to meeting you man - I was at ASW too, so we probably were getting crunked on champagne together in Spangler without even knowing it. The thing about my story is I told my dad when the decisions would be announced back on October 15 when I was invited to interview. He must have marked it on his calendar...what a dork (or good father)

Isn't it amazing that virtually all the admitted students in R1 are in the HBS Class of 2013 group on Facebook? There are 340members - Harvard must have accepted about 400 because R2 applications outnumber R1 applications. I am assuming everyone in the group is in fact an admitted student.

Yeah, I guess we like Facebook. :) What's amazing is that if you post that you're visiting literally to any country in the world, a half a dozen people quickly let you know that they live there and want to either meet up with you or that you can stay with them. It's pretty cool to see.

You could try sending it to [email protected] with "ATTN: Interviewer's Name" in the subject line. When I interviewed on campus they wouldn't give us direct email addresses to our interviewers but we got that email address and instructions to put the ATTN heading in there if we wanted to send a thank you note. I think that account goes to the receptionist's desk, who would then pass the messages on to the interviewers.

I'm not sure if the off-campus AdCom interviewers work the same way but it's worth a try.

Thanks so much for your advice.
I sent a thank you note, however did not receive any replies.
Is this normal? I applied to 3 schools, but received only 1 feedback(from a current student interviewer)

I am not accustomed to a 'thank you note' policy, since it is not normal in my country.
Is it normal not to reply to a 'thank you note?'

Anyway, it will be so exciting to join the Facebook HBS Class of 2013 community!
As soon as I get accepted, I will make sure I join the club and get to know you all!

I've sent thank you notes to all 4 interviewers and didn't hear back from any of them, though I did reestablish email contact with three of them after the adcom notifications came out. Three of them were hand-written notes so for all I know they got lost in the mail at their offices. I would say it's not worth worrying about--think about it, if you gave someone a birthday present and they wrote you a thank you note, would you be expected to respond to the thank you note? Not really.
