I have looked at various forums and havent seen anyone report an interview invite this week. Maybe they are all out of them already, since the interview process has started, they must be just bundling all the rejection notifications. Nov 3rd is our D day.

I'd call that quite the consolation prize!

I disagree--there's been almost no movement on this in two weeks. Our best estimate is that about 60 percent of the interviews have been offered. That means that more than a third haven't been. Seems to me like we should be expecting a big dump on Wednesday.

In the meantime, I'm going to have a beer and keep my hopes up.

That estimate is truly very low. It's possible that 60% of invitations went out the FIRST DAY, much less until now (though it was probably more like half). It's more likely there are 90%+ of interview invitations out. Keep your hopes up if you want -- it'll make no difference in the end -- but probability is not your friend at this point.

Still haven't seen anything from HBS, though I received an invite from Wharton today so maybe there is still a ray of hope.

I'm with you on that same boat, folks.

International, applied to HBS, Stanford and Booth. Already got invites from Stanford and Booth - nothing from HBS, and I have to admit I really thought I put together a very nice application...

As this is the first time HBS is doing this "mid-decision-window" thingie - I think that this year, more than in previous years, we are all speculating without much base.

Still, the fact that no waves went out for over a week is a good sign, I think.
I choose to think that the adcom ppl finished reading the applications and right now they are all up there in Dee's office - and she is using the rest of the window to go through these let's say 300-350 files - 200 will get the invites, 150 others will get WL - and the rest are in the Ding pile anyway...

Yes, it's a total guess and a random speculation - but hey, it helps me go through the weekend.

The other good thing is, that it really doesn't matter, it's totally out of our hands and we'll all be much wiser on Wed.

Good luck everyone anyway!

I did not. I'll do it now - I was certain they did.
I've heard of at least 2 others who got invites and scheduled off-campus interviews.

All internationals though.

It was quite funny. I was obssesively refreshing my email, hoping for the HBS invite to pop up, and then got the one from S. - That was PURE JOY there!

How long do they give for the Stanford interview? I think maybe we should discuss this in Stanford thread.. Thanks!

I have to agree with disposable8201. Last year's HBS thread (which didn't even include the 2+2 applicants) tracked 51 Round 1 applicants, 16 of which eventually got interviews. This year our thread is tracking (via our GoogleDoc spreadsheet) 55 Round 1 applicants and we've only confirmed 5 interviews! Assuming characteristics of this year's applicant pool is comparable to last year's - roughly the same magnitude of applicants, similar caliber, about the same number of applicants participating in this thread and eventually updating the spreadsheet, etc - something is definitely off! My hunch is either another wave of invites is going out on or before Nov 3 or a decent number of folks are going to get interview invites sometime after getting placed on the waitlist on Wednesday.
Other thoughts?

nice analysis LionO. 60% of those interviewed get admitted. so last year: 16/51 interviewed. if 50% got admitted then 8/51 were admitted, which is still above the 10% that HBS admits. we would like to assume normal distributions but last year's data was ANYTHING but normally distributed. my money is on 40-60 invites being sent out next week.
