If we are waitlisted at HBS but accepted at GSB, is there possibility that HBS gets back to us before GSB acceptance deadline?

If you tell them, almost any B-school will informally extend your decision-making window. It's not a huge inconvenience to them. (HBS does this regularly.)

The dreaded waitlist...any info on size of WL or acceptance rates from the WL in years past?

Maybe the information below is helpful for someone.

Last year's waitlist data I received (was finally dinged on March / 2014) always via email.

1) # of people on the WL last year was 127: "And finally, the number one question we have received between the last update we sent out and today is, "How many people are on the waitlist?" The answer is: 127"

2) # of people admitted was not disclosed. but here's what was said: "Last week, we concluded our interview process for Round 2 applicants and since then, we have been busy making final decisions on our Round 2 candidates, as well as re-reviewing the applications of those on the waitlist. We will definitely be admitting a number of you from the waitlist before the end of next week."

In. Glad to be done with this nerve wracking process.

Did anyone NOT get an email telling them to check their status?

I did without an email prompting me to do so... WL.

The reason I ask is because I am a reapplicant and was WL last time. When I went to upload my post interview reflection my reflection from the previous year was already there. That combined with no email telling me to check my status is making me hold on to the smallest bit of hope that I'm really admitted and it's just showing the same letter from the previous app.

I don't think it matters but the status was available at exactly 9am.

I still haven't gotten the status update email - assuming the system is going slow with all the action today.

Have you checked whether your decision is posted?

Yeah - WL. Unfortunately, with my name at the top of my letter I'm assuming they got it correct. Obviously since your name hasn't changed that doesn't rule things out for you. But HBS has been very on top of the whole process. . . I don't want to be a wet blanket but that would be a big mistake on their part to post someone's year-old status as their decision. Hope I'm wrong though. The old reflection showing up is a little compelling. . .

For those who were admitted -- does anyone know of a Facebook group or other online space for the admits for next year to meet, discuss etc?
