I have been admitted to Sept 2018 intake. I am thinking if I should continue with this intake or ask the school to defer it to Jan 2019. Any suggestions on pros and cons?
I am Indian and will have 11 years of Indian IT work ex. by the time I join course. Of the 11 years, I have worked in 3 countries other than India for a combined duration of 6+ years.
Had just one interview which was just 20-25 mins long. Interview was conversational and questions were standard like why MBA, Why now, Why IE and what can you bring to IE etc.
Interview length made me think I blew it.. but got acceptance in a week :)

Hi! Congrats on your admission!

I was admitted to Sept 2018 intake and I asked to defer it to Jan 2019.

My goal: I want to use the internships as a bridge to a new role. According to this, January intake offers better possibilities, mainly for one reason: In the January intake you have one month more for the internship, due to the fact that in August the school remains closed fot the summer break. So you can do a 3 months long internship. Also, companies usually look for internships for the summer break.

In the September intake, IMBA in practice starts in February and last until March, what is one month less than in Jan, and it's not so usual for companies to look for internships by that period of the year.

As pros for the september intake, there are more students, because of is more common to start in September, so more networking!

Hope it helps!

Hi All,
I had written IEGAT on 17th November and had submitted my application by 14th December. Since then I haven't heard anything from the school - neither a "Yes" nor a "No".
I had inquired around December end if my application was received and that was acknowledged as "Yes".
Please suggest if I should have more patience or should I ask again?
Thanks
Sameer

Update
I sent an email to IE after posting here and received a response in minutes. There was some confusion and now they have scheduled my interview next week. I would be thankful for the tips :)

Hi Sameerj

If you go to the January 2019 intake thread, you'll see my experience with the interview.

Best of luck!

Iván.

Hi guys,

I'm planning to submit my application within two weeks. Do you think I still have a chance to get admitted in September intake? Or it would be better for me to apply for January intake?

Thanks!

Hi!

I guess that the class is more complete for the September intake than for the intake of January. And probably the school is looking for specific profiles to complete it. And most of the scholarships will have been given...

And finally, there are less applicants for the January intake than in September, what makes it less competitive!

Good luck!

Hey! Have any of the admitted applied for scholarships? And have you received a response from the school?

Regards!

Hello Guys,

Last week, I got the confirmation for Jan'19 intake under Dual Degree programme(IMBA+ Big Data). But I have not received any communication from the financial aid team for scholarship, given I submitted my scholarship application soon after my application for admission .
My plan to pursue MBA relies heavily on scholarship. So, before I book my place for the course, I want to be sure about the cost that I will have to bear and thus could think on the same line.
I would really appreciate if anyone could guide me on the process to follow for the scholarship/fellowship programme or share similar experience.
Shall I get in touch with the admission team on this and state clear my need and aspiration?

Thanks

Guys I have been accepted but I am a bit confused whether to accept the offer or not. What are your guys' thoughts on IE being removed from the FT rankings altogether?

Hi,

I have also been recently admitted to IE iMBA!

I am currently trying to find experiences and feedback from alumni on IE strengths and weaknesses so I can double check that I am taking the right decision, before I pay the reservation fee :)

Any information would be well appreciated. My expected outcome at IE would be a solid background on management and strategy.
