Hey guys just wanted to ask if my previous work experience into Teaching(school for underprivileged kids) and Recruitment(HR) would add to the work experience diversity factor to my overall profile. I am an IT Business Analyst currently and have one year of work experience each in teaching and recruitment before my IT career. So basically does work experience diversity come into consideration during admissions and if yes then should it be the current work experience that should be diverse or even past experience with diversity is considered with equal weightage?

Could anyone confirm if it is mandatory to report your GMAT score through ETS to the IIMA PGPX or just attaching the GMAT score card would suffice?

For those who have received admit, can someone please tell about the commitment fees payment schedule ? There is no update on IIMA PGPX page (https://www.iima.ac.in/academics/MBA-PG ... -structure) it is still from last year.

dudestud Teaching is a legit professional work experience for MBA programs. In the previous cycle, my mentee, a former middle school teacher, secured admission to the top 15 US MBA programs and leading Indian B Schools. In a competitive landscape of similar profiles, teaching experience is an advantage if you can engage in thoughtful reflection on your experiences and emphasize the skills and insights you acquired. Consider how you developed into a more effective teacher and a positive influence on young minds. Business schools evaluate the credibility of your post-MBA goals and the skills (both hard and soft) you bring to facilitate your career progression and transition based on your recent work engagements.
Reflect on your successful pivot to a different domain (for example from teaching to HR to BA) as this strengthens your case when discussing career changes or pursuing more ambitious future endeavors.

Yes, include everything. If you sell it well, will certainly earn you brownie points.

GMAT score has to be sent via GMAC for IIMA to consider the application.

dudestud IIM A does not disclose this. However, from experience, I have observed that IIM A places a considerable emphasis on an applicant's undergraduate academic performance and their GMAT scores. Meeting their standards can be quite challenging if both of these aspects are not particularly impressive. The IIM A interviews hold a significant weight in the selection process. These insights are based on first-hand discussions with Profs. During these interviews, the selection panel looks for several key aspects to assess the suitability of the applicant:

Aptitude for Rigorous Curriculum: They evaluate whether the applicant is well-suited to handle the demanding and challenging curriculum at IIM A. This assessment is crucial, given the institution's rigorous academic standards.

Industry Knowledge: The panel seeks to understand the depth of the applicant's industry knowledge, especially concerning the domain in which their current employer operates. This element is particularly important for individuals with extensive experience at a single company, such as those with long careers in IT or in PSUs.

Ability to contribute to the Cohort: IIM A values the skills and unique attributes that each applicant can bring to the student cohort. They also consider the potential for peer-to-peer learning and how the applicant can enrich the overall educational experience for fellow students.

Comfort with Analytical Courses: For individuals who graduated a long time ago or have backgrounds that are less analytical in nature, the panel assesses their comfort with basic finance and analytical courses. It's important to gauge whether the applicant can adapt to the academic demands of these subjects.

Leadership and Maturity: Applicants with less than the average work experience of 7-8 years should provide substantial evidence of their maturity and leadership capabilities. This is to ensure that they can thrive in the academic and professional environment at IIM A.
