Please understand that IIM A’s PGP program is looking for people with strong leadership potential. There is a reason they have a minimum threshold for work experience that is higher than most MBA programs. Therefore, in your application and interview, focus on your career growth progression as well as leadership potential.
I think that when you apply, you will only be borderline eligible, so you will be among the younger applicants for the program. The average experience tends to be around 7 years. You need to have an edge to beat the competition, be it your test scores or career achievements.
In a purely technical role, you may have had few opportunities to lead teams or initiatives. Try to spend more time planning how you could best portray your contributions to the business through your work and initiatives. Give more weight to speaking about your growth rather than internships and school achievements. The more you practice doing this, the better you will become at it.
Best wishes

Profile Review please: Acads: 88/88/83. B.Tech Gold Medalist : Marine Engineering and Research Institute of India. Work EX: 6 months in KAWASAKI tokyo , 2.5 years in Indian Bank as Assistant Manager and since the last 2.5 years serving as Auditor in Ministry of Defence. GRE 322. converted LKI XLRI JBIMS this year. was not able to apply to A B bcz i gave my GRE post its deadlines. So willing to drop and apply to A B in R-1. What are the chances and what else should i do in these 4-5 months to imporve anything that is lacking in my profile.
What do you want to achieve after an MBA? How does that connect with the career arc so far (KAWASAKI-> Bank Manager-> Audit in Defence)? You will need to have a compelling reasoning to justify your ask for an MBA if A and B are on your mind. GRE could be better but it is not a deal breaker if your work profile is solid.
