Hi all, I have a question: The R2 interviews for IIMB are scheduled for 4th & 5th November. However, I am supposed to travel to the USA on these dates for business purpose, and I’ll probably be in flights or at an airport. Is it advisable to mail the institute regarding this? Will they make any possible adjustments for such a situation? I would prefer to apply in R2 as I don’t want to push it to R3 wherein there are fewer chances of getting selected (As per the common conception).
Not with IIM B but I had an applicant in the last intake who faced a similar issue with IIM A. He was stationed at a remote location (army) and couldn’t be relieved to attend the interview in person. He requested a remote interview but was informed that remote interviews are only permitted for applicants who are abroad for extended periods. He applied in Round 1 but was interviewed alongside Round 3 applicants and still got the admit. So, if you anticipate being away for a while or need to, you may consider requesting a remote interview or moving it to a later round. If your preparation is solid, and your profile is strong, the timing should not significantly impact your chances. For small cohorts like those at IIM A and B, each intake is equally selective.
