No, experience during your study period is not counted as full time employment

I faced a similar situation so I can be the best person to answer this question 1st question - how many years of work ex do you have ? the internship work ex can be written about in your SOP , but you cannot for sure enter it as a line item in the form . For me I had a total of 6.5 yrs of work experience + 2 years of M.tech along with 6month semester exchange of internship . So definitely I was not falling short of 5 years mark . But I felt my experience in internship was ground breaking , so I mentioned about it as a one liner in SOP . Panel were actually interested in the internship more , so they cross questioned me a lot on that internship more than my actual job . Result being - I cleared the interview .
