Still nothing, I guess time to give up hope?

What could be the plausible reasons it’s taking so long to review my application

Hey folks,

Seeking the wisdom of the people. I received my invite on the last day of the interview deadline and hence had 4questions
1. Does it mean anything that my interview invite was this late in the window
2. I haven’t still received names of my interviewees. How long should I wait for it.
3. On the interview time line when should I be targeting the interview. Any advantage to pushing for interviews sooner rather than later
4. It seems my current salary stats put me considerably above the post mba salary stats for Insead. Do I need to address that somehow.

Hi neya90,

please see below.

1. It doesn't mean anything. Invites are not sent based on the quality of applications or how much INSEAD likes you.
2. Usually 24-48 hours. Considering today is Saturday, you can expect to receive the details of your interviewers on Monday or Tuesday.
3. You'll be given about 4 weeks to complete both interviews. Your interviewers will be aware of the deadline for interviewing you. Because they are volunteers and do this out of their personal time, it is best to let them decide a date of their convenience. Of course, if they propose dates that don't work for you, feel free to push back. They're just people like you and me and, therefore, they know you may have conflicts in schedule. To your other question, there's really no advantage to interviewing early or late.
4. Your interviewers most likely won't care about your current salary. You'll share with them your application PDF but, chances are, they won't pay much attention to details such as your salary. But if they do and they want to ask (again, highly unlikely), just have an answer ready. But if they don't ask (most likely), don't bring it up.

Good luck!
Alex

Congratulations on your interview invite neya90 !

1. Receiving your interview invite on the last day of the window does not necessarily indicate anything negative, as it has a rolling process where some candidates are reviewed and invited later based on various factors.
2. It’s common for assignments to take a few days to a week, but if there’s no update within that timeframe, a polite follow-up with adcom is fine.
3. When scheduling your interview, it’s generally best to do so within 1–2 weeks, scheduling earlier avoids last-minute issues. There’s no strict advantage to rushing.
4. Good that you're thinking on these lines too! It’s only necessary to address if relevant to your career transition, if you’re making a pivot that involves a short-term salary dip, you can briefly acknowledge this(if asked), but otherwise, INSEAD values long-term career growth over immediate compensation changes. Major focus should be on demonstrating why the MBA is critical for your professional development, and prepare thoroughly for your interviews to maximize your chances of success.

Good luck!

Hi neya90 happy to pitch in as these are common concerns many applicants will have

For as long as you got the invite, reading into the timing, etc., presumptuously is just a waste of time. You have been given a chance as equal as any interviewee, and you should make the most of it. The adcoms try to match you with interviewers with whom you could share some commonalities, even if it’s as simple as geography/city, so it can take some time to work out the logistics. You should get the names of interviewers within this week and trust that the AO will be on top of this task (scheduling your interview), so don’t worry. Use this time to prepare for the interview. Once you get the interviewers' details, research a bit into their backgrounds (I consider this an important part of the interview preparation so you know who you are trying to impress) and then you should work out a time with the interviewer when you are in the best shape mentally and best prepared.
Salary concerns will likely never be asked in an INSEAD interview simply because the program's reach is so wide, and students go in all directions across the world. I would not recommend bringing it up yourself either—just keep your focus on why you are so invested in the idea of an INSEAD MBA.

Best wishes

hey wise people of GMAT club. So got my allocation for interviewees. Based on geographies of my interviewees it seems my interviews will have to be remote. I have a strong preference for in person. I know that my location has loads of INSEAD alumni . Should I request for a change from AO?
