Hi Guys..

Just wanted some info on the interview location options in the application. The options available include Bangalore,Mumbai etc. but the Note below the field in the form asks us to select only Hyderabad, Delhi or Mohali. Any idea if these are the only interview locations and why other locations are available to be selected?

From what I understand (and know from previous experience), they do conduct interviews in locations other than Delhi, Mohali and Hyderabad. However, do call the admissions office for this small detail. They will surely answer immediately.

Please provide insight on my profile and candidature for ISB

Background - Manufacturing Engineer with over 5 years of experience.
- 4 years and 4 months in the US
- 9 months of experience as a Consultant in India.

Education -
- GMAT - 680 - Q48, V35, IR2, AWA 5.5
- MS in Industrial Engineering, GPA 3.7/4.0
- BE in Manufacturing Engineering GPA - 77.7%
- XII th - Average = 87%
- Xth - Average = 93.2%

Extra Curricular -
- State Level debate winner
- District level Table Tennis Player
- Organised various cultural and technical festivals in undergrad.
- Vice President - Society of Manufacturing Engineers
- Secretary and Project Co-coordinator for Association for India's Development (AID).

Please advise, as I am planning to apply in R2, (before November 30th 2014)

From what I see, I think you have a good solid profile. The international experience especially should help you a lot. The extra curriculars seem OK too (though majority seem old). You need to work to include some of these aspects in your essays, especially your contributions in these roles.

GMAT is slightly on the lower side (but you might be able to make up for it as your acads seem fine). The 2 in IR might've raised some questions (but I do not think that ISB is considering IR scores this year- so you should be fine there too - call the admissions office or send them an email).

Do consider retaking the GMAT to strengthen your application.

All the best for your application.

For candidates with experience in IT services, what should be the job function in the application form? I see only Consulting-IT as the nearest match. Any inputs?

Hey,

You can write any one of the following depending on your role.

Manager: Information Services Management
Consultant: Consulting -IT
System Engineer: Product Development
Implementation Project: Software/System Management
Quality Assurance Engineer: Quality Control

Hope this helps...

Sorry for the delay.

An excerpt from the brochure

"A panel of ISB representatives will conduct personal
interviews in Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad only.
Overseas applicants will have a telephone interview
or can opt to visit the campus for the interview in person."

Thank you for looking at this and responding. I had written to ISB Adcom, and they did not mention anything specifically for IR, but I will ask them about IR score again to be sure.

Hi, quick question:
The statement of integrity form for a reapplicant is already uploaded from the last year. So, we just leave it or upload a new one??

I just left it, since it did not contain any time stamp or that required additional upload. :|

ISB (in fact any top B-school) considers only full time experience after graduation. While you can talk about the experience in your essays it will not count towards your work experience.

Edit: If you're really very keen to include it, check with the helpline. +91 40 2318 7474

So people ...

How many of you have submitted the applications. I am yet to. Still have to pay the fees :P

I think the early calls are given in case of exceptionally early submission. I remember Archit submitted his application somewhere in July, so he got a call on the 4th of September.

My application has been complete for a few days now. Just proof reading the essays one last time. Will probably be submitting it today evening.
