Decent profile overall. Good grades across. Don’t have a view of your eca and goals. Ideally, they should be aligned toward the healthcare sector or within consulting. Regarding the score, ISB’s average is ~720 so have that in mind. Target 800. You won’t get a few questions wrong because target is lower :)

I have got 10/10 CGPA in 10th board ( CBSE ), 94.5% in 12th board ( AP state board ) & 8.7 CGPA in B.Tech - Mechanical Engg. ( VIT university vellore ). I have ~5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management - HVAC industry ( Blue Star ): Global procurement ( 1 Yr ), Factory procurement - Mechanical components ( 2.5 Yrs ), Factory procurement - Electrical & Electronics components ( 1 Yr ) & Strategic sourcing and vendor development ( Currently ). All these experience is in Blue Star only. My post MBA goal is to get into either in Consulting or strategic roles. Hello Mandy001 hope this finds you well

You have good academics and the IIT pedigree is the cherry on the cake. You have had two relatively short professional stints, but I am hoping that you have strong stories from these jobs to substantiate your leadership capabilities and also have equally strong recommendations. Suggest you target 730+ to complement your top-tier academic performance. ECs is another area you cannot overlook. I hope you have some hobbies, volunteer work, or passion projects to talk about in your applications.
Also do not be complacent about your goals. Due deliberation is needed. In my experience, ZS workforce is highly represented in the ISB applicant pool so the competition is going to be stiff.

Feel free to reach out should you need professional guidance.

Regards

Hi Himaanshu007 hope this finds you well

You can surely differentiate yourself from the large pool, given your strong procurement and supply chain experience. A solid display of passion for your chosen field of work and rational reasoning explaining your career trajectory can set you up as a meticulous and thoughtful character. Thoroughly evaluated Post-MBA goals that resonate with your past work experience will further strengthen your case for ISB.
Consulting or strategy goals are generic, you need to research well all the plausible outcomes and present them in your goals essay.
With a 680 on GMAT, ISB could be a far reach unless you have some other exceptional aspect in your profile such as international work-ex, strong volunteering work, and so on.

For ECs, I recommend that you think deeper and analyze whether you have missed considering any mundane/ unobvious/ subtle initiatives you may have taken through the years (certain diversity initiatives at work, for example, raising voice against gender parity, voicing strong opinions for women's employment in the manufacturing facilities, providing financial or moral support to someone in need, teaching the underprivileged kids, organizing diversity talks or off-site activities for better collaboration among teams, and so on).

Feel free to reach out should you need more insights or professional guidance.

Regards

Hi pulkit sareen hope this finds you well

You have good academics and a very strong undergrad pedigree. However, your GMAT does not complement that well. Unable to infer the impact you have had on your company or on clients through your work, so maybe expand a bit more on that. What are some of your achievements from work you are extremely proud of? Any team leading experience, promotions, international work-ex, etc?
The specifics you shared are not enough to for us to give you an informed advice.

Got 91.2 % in ICSE in the 10th board exams, followed by 85% in 12th HSC exams, did my graduation in bachelor’s of mass media with an A grade, followed by a bachelors degree of law with Grade A again. I have been working in digital advertising for the last 5 years and want to shift to a more strategic marketing role after my stint at ISB. I have been volunteered at NGOs before, like Teach for India and The Lighthouse Project. Currently I am also a part-time mentor at Career Ninja where I teach subjects like Content Marketing and Digital Marketing. Basis my side stints, I am a theatre actor as well who got back to the art after college during the lockdown

Hi MBA guide. I was promoted to consultant last year and might be promoted to senior consultsnt this year or next. In terms of impact created, I was part of a team that signed up a private client worth more than 10 million USD in India. We won it against MD of McK India at that time. I worked on various client in clothing, automobile and cement industry mainly impacting sales. In one of the projects I also doubled market share from 5% to 10% of one of the states in almost an year. Apart from this, I am a part of EY foundation in which I provide mentorship to some very poor students who are granted EY scholarship. Our family also runs a charity which provides poor travellers shelter at Rs 50 per night. We also run a dug rehabilitation centre in association with Red Cross and a small girls school which provides home sciences education to poor girls.

Hi Drashtithaker

With an experience of 5 years and a differentiated background in digital advertising and teaching, things look good from a first perspective. But the most important aspect to show on a B School application is "career progression". How have you demonstrated an upward trajectory in the last 5 years? What new learnings, and incremental responsibilities did you get as you walked on the digital advertising path for 5 years.

For your applications. focus on highlighting the most unique aspects to increase the odds of success. Reflect on the experiences where you took initiatives to resolve conflicts within teams, motivated co-workers and subordinates to expedite projects and generated impact on business in terms of $$ through cost savings or revenue generation.
Your ECs look promising, hope you would be able to corroborate your work (proofs, certificates, LORs etc).

In your applications show you have done due diligence on the "strategic marketing" roles that you wish to pursue post PGP.
If you have not yet given the GMAT, I suggest you target a 710+ score.

pulkit sareen Working on interesting cross-industry consulting projects in a client-facing role is a top-tier kind of pre-MBA experience.
You should articulate your experience well, focusing on strategy projects, client locking and handling experience, team building and team management, and process streamlining experience for various clients. ECs seem alright but nothing spectacular unless you had a large part to play in managing these NGOs. A high GMAT score can easily turn tables in your favor given your strong academic background and consulting experience. I suggest you consider re-taking the GMAT.
