Hi, a dumb question- for women, does business formals need to have the blazer? Can it just be the formal top and pants?
Can be either or a saree as well!

I think apart from shortlisting mails received on 20th, only those with interviews on 7th and 8th (Bangalore, Chennai , Hyderabad) have also received mails for interview

What’s your location?
Depends on that.
If you have received the under review email on 20th post late verification, then you may get the invite a week before your location interview date

Don’t overthink this. They might be at an advantage, but it doesn’t change anything for you anyway. :) The time now is to focus on the prep.

No hard and fast rule. However a blazer conveys professionalism hence it is strongly recommended you wear one. A formal top and pants will also do no issues.

By principle it should not make any difference. In an in person interview panel gets to see how you walk, talk and react and can read your minute facial changes which might not be that easy in a virtual scenario. So if a candidate is confident, physical interview enhance chance by a factor and if not confident it declines by the same factor

Concealing nervousness would be bit more easy in virtual mode

I would highly disagree with this. I have taken 100+ mock interviews for candidates - Virtual interviews make it much more difficult to hide body language issues as the interviewers always see your face, and its very easy to detect facial expression changes.
