Hi guys,
After reading so many reviews about Sarthak from CareerEdge, I would like to give my honest opinion about him. PLEASE DON’T GO WITH SARTHAK; HIS WORK IS REALLY BAD AND DISAPPOINTING.
Despite my doubts and confusion, I went ahead with him, thinking that since he is new in the field, he would give his best to deliver good results. We had our initial discussion, and I gave him a draft version of a 700-800-word essay, as he had asked. To my surprise, within the next 2 hours, he sent me a “ready” ISB essay of 400 words. The essay was filled with unnecessary vocabulary that seemed like he was trying to show off rather than focus on what was required. He also kept flaunting his testimonials and such.
I showed that essay to my friends who are ISB alums and doing well in their careers. They laughed and said this essay would take me nowhere. I politely suggested we make some alterations, but he responded by saying, “You give me points, and I’ll change it.” He made all the changes in 20 minutes. I mean, no matter how efficient you are, you cannot make substantial changes that quickly.
I spent hours working on it myself, discussing it with many friends and making several iterations. When I asked him for help to enhance it, he only made minor changes and said it was done. When I provided him with feedback on his services, instead of taking it constructively, he took it personally. He quoted fake numbers, claiming that no one had ever questioned his services before. I still insisted we try again to make it better.
But again, he made no real effort. Whatever I sent, his feedback was always “looks good,” “looks okay,” etc., with no meaningful input. Eventually, I gave up and worked on everything with the help of my friends and seniors. He would just send me recorded voice notes for each essay, and I believe the third essay on “Why ISB” was copy-pasted for everyone, without even checking if it made sense. I completely rewrote it myself.
He also advised me to create a 2-page CV and include academic scores, saying, “ISB waale iss baar pagla gaye hain ki scores nai likhne, so make a 2-pager. A 1-page CV is for consulting interviews, not MBA interviews.” I put my best effort into making the CV, spending hours on it and getting it quality-checked by others.
On 13th September, a day before my IIM A PGPX interview and two days before the ISB deadline, I previewed the form and saw that only a 1-page CV was allowed. I called the ISB team, and they confirmed that 2-pagers would not be accepted. I was already anxious because it’s not easy to condense a detailed 2-page CV into 1 page in a day, especially when you have a major interview scheduled for the next day.
Sarthak claimed he had discussed this with Ketan and Amit Tyagi, so I asked for a screenshot of their conversation. He said he couldn’t share it. I then messaged Mr. Amit Tyagi directly on LinkedIn, and he responded within an hour, confirming that only a 1-page CV was allowed. When I informed Sarthak, he once again took it personally. After I sent him the screenshot, he messaged Mr. Ketan asking for clarification, while pretending he had already spoken to him before. Then, he sent me a voice note saying our contract was over, and he didn’t want to work with me anymore, lol.
He is such a liar, and all the stats he uses are fake. Please, do not trust him, and don’t be trapped by consultants like him just because of the cost or other factors.
I believe that by not following any of his advice, I was able to convert both ISB and IIM B. IF YOU GUYS REALLY WANT TO CONVERT, DO EXACTLY OPPOSITE OF WHAT HE SUGGESTS AND YOUR CHANCES WILL IMPROVE BY 80%. Best of luck to future candidates in choosing the right consultant.
I could have written even more, and if anyone wants to verify my words, I’m happy to share all the screenshots and voice notes to bring the truth to light.
