Dear musagarw

We can see clear highlights in your profile with strong academics and a really good GMAT score. Your work experience with Oracle will still put you in the bucket of majority of applicant pool (from IT based roles) and you will need to see specific impact pointers from your work experience that can help you stand out. Further, you will need to see what interesting initiatives and stories that we can bring out from your extracurriculars to be able to arrive at a compelling narrative for your application essays.

We are genuinely eager to learn more about your profile and brainstorm how we can most effectively present it. At Team FLY, we are a collective of ISB alumni dedicated to supporting prospective ISB candidates with profile positioning, essay critiques, and interview preparations.

Please feel free to book a 15-minute free session for a detailed discussion with us at https://calendly.com/reachusfly/15min.

Warm Regards,
Team Fly

Hi Guys,

I need your advice on ISB GRE test preparation. I am planning to seek admission in the coming year and would like to know which GRE course is better and more suited for Indian students: Magoosh or Manhattan? If there is any other course you believe is better, please suggest that as well. 🙏🏻

Hi, how to filter the GMAT high-level questions that have been asked in the past/source="Official GMAT", because the OG questions feel a lot easier than the mocks (which feel a lot easier than the actual exam).

Hi rayjaycleoful, you might find the following article useful:

How to tackle gaps in work experience or in academics?--
Ashish.
Thanks

Given you have a we’ll thought reason for the break, it is usually okay for a break spanning few months. If it is a long break more than an year, it could get a bit tricky
Thanks
From what I understand then - family, medical, UPSC etc type preparation, etc. is justifiable
But not general leisure

is it that PGPYL is very competitive this year, since its the first batch so they are definitely looking for the cream? Or an average will be able to make it.

Hey, I would recommend using GREGMAT - it is very affordable as compared to other options and honestly the best out there! Just follow his two month plan and you’ll be sorted.

You ask an intriguing question after the major bloodbath in R1.

I’m so curious about that myself

Hello musagarw,

The ideal time for you to apply would be with slightly higher work experience + a better GMAT score (at the moment, both your years of experience and the GMAT are on the lower side of the average).

However, if you are applying in R2/R3 this year, your chances will largely depend on the quality of essays and stories you put forth along with how well your goals sync with your experiences.

The following video will help:

Good luck!

Hi all,
Wanted to check how much of a difference a career break can make to an ISB application? and how many months is considered a break?
Hello rayjaycleoful,

The honest answer is that a break makes a difference to any application; however, a small break of a couple of months owing to a job switch or just to unwind (if you have been working for many years) is ok and wont pose an issue.

Longer breaks or an unemployed status at the time of application generally pose an issue.

All the best!

Is there any chance to get a call from ISB at a 615 FE score
Hello HRKT,

Chances are low unless your profile is very differentiated!

Good luck!

Hi rayjaycleoful , so a career break for a few months might also catch the adcom's attention, but it won't necessarily hurt your chances if you explain it well. Let them understand about the reason, whether it was for personal growth, learning new skills, exploring new ideas or a family situation. Highlight any productive activities you did during this time, like certifications or volunteering, and connect how the experience ties into your future goals. By showing strong achievements after the break can reassure the adcom about your commitment and focus. The key is to frame the break as a meaningful part of your journey! Good luck.

Hey Folks!

I have been selected for ISB R1 admissions! A huge thanks to Arijit from @CrackAdmission. I reached out to him with very little time left for interview prep, and he really came through. We did a mock interview where he pointed out a bunch of areas I could improve. Honestly, I was all over the place, but Arijit helped me craft a solid narrative for my goals, and it all came together perfectly.

In the end, about 60% of the final interview was based on what we had worked on in those mock sessions, so it made a huge difference!

If anyone here is looking for help with their application or interview prep, I highly recommend reaching out to Arijit/@CrackAdmission. It could be a total game-changer!
