Do you have around 2 years of work experience, primarily in promotions or advertising? Also, I think a GMAT FE score between 625-645 might not be enough. Aim for at least 665+, especially since your academic background isn’t particularly strong or quant-focused. Prioritize a high quant score.

Ultimately, it’s all about how you present your profile. If you’d like to discuss this further, feel free to DM me.

Thanks for the response. Not sure if you understand my background clearly. This is the case with most MBA consultants in India I guess, given many lack experience in working with diverse profiles, understandable since the majority of candidates are from engineering or commerce background.

I have 2.3 years of experience in advertising. Burnett and Dentsu are F500 advertising and media corps. What does it mean that the educational background isn't particularly strong? I have score 9.12CGPA from one of the top media colleges in the country.

Will take my chances on GMAT, considering I am not a classic engineering grad.

I’m not sure if you fully read my message where I clearly mentioned Advertising/Promotions, and I’m well aware of what Dentsu does, having worked with several applicants from there. Additionally, I don’t believe your profile is particularly diverse, which is why I recommend aiming for a higher GMAT score. Scoring 72% in 12th standard is a concern.

While your 9.12 CGPA from a top media college is impressive, it isn’t quant or analytics-focused, so that doesn’t fully address the issue. However, it’s ultimately your decision to proceed as you see fit.

As for your comment about consultants, I don’t think it’s fair to generalize. Most of us are alums of the very B-schools you’re aspiring to, and we’re here to help in any way we can.
If you dont want an honest profile eval, do not ask for it, simple!

Gaurav07, Also, please don’t assume that Indian consultants work only with engineers and commerce graduates. Nor will you find such a skewed population at ISB—at least, that wasn’t the case during my year.

I understand the 12th grade scores could be a problem, but most alums I spoke to see the noticible growth in undergrad score. Considering the 'broad generalization', your comment was hardly an 'evaluation' of the profile, considering you didnt bother commenting on work experience details or extra curriculars or college participations.

If that's an evaluation, then I am probably correct about the generalization of 'Most'. Not All.

Moreover, since you mentioned that you have worked with candidates from similar backgrounds, it would be great if you could share some testimonials or linkedin profiles for clarity. Couldn't find it on youtube though.

Hi everyone

Even though I have written my GMAT on 26th August, I haven’t received an official score report yet. I have emailed GMAC twice about it, and their standard response is that it should be available within 1-3 business days, and in certain cases it can take up to 20 business days.

Since I am planning to submit my application in Round 1 for ISB, I wanted to check with you about the options I have in case I still haven’t received my score by the time the R1 applications close. Can I submit the application using my unofficial score? Since this is GMAT Focus, I do not have any unofficial/test centre report with Sectional Scores and only have my final score. So, not sure how to fill the test scores section in the form which is mandatory, ofc.

As per my test date, the 20 business days time period officially lapses on 23rd Sept and the R1 closes on 15th Sept.

Please help, very confused.

Hi, does anyone know if we can download a PDF version of the completed ISB application form? I believe there used to be an option to download in the past but that no longer seems to be the case.

Curiously you do not think worthy enough to mention your college name. That is also a part of the profile KarthikDS. :)

Things look good. Hope you are working on crafting an immaculate application.

Hi @KarthikDS,
Thanks for sharing profile.
Your academics and GMAT scores are really good.
The experience of sales within PSU is something which not many people have, so that makes your work experience really diverse.
Strong extra curricular with certification on digital marketing and analytics is really making you stand out!

Apply, with basic due diligence on application and good interview preparation, you will qualify in ISB or any 3 top IIMs, hopefully, without much of issue!

Hi Akshara, fret not! I was in the same boat as you along w others. I wrote my exam on 24th august and got my results on 5th august. I mailed the team and they told me it’s getting audited and it can’t be expedited. But the score I got was more than what I read after my exam! Be patient and don’t worry (if you wrote in centre) did you write your exam in Pearson Ggn centre? alot of people i know are facing delays from this centre

I am assuming you intend to say 5th September.

Please do not raise hopes like this PhenomMBA. What if Akshara already has an 805? In that case, there would be no further scope of any higher score ;).

Hahaha! Yes I meant 5th september but yes, I thought I should help because this was unusual for a test centre, and I was very scared as to what happened which required an audit and almost decided to not prepare my applications for ISB. But frey not you’ll get your score
