You can definitely use a section from last year’s essay. Just because you applied before doesn’t mean your past experiences are any less important, especially if they highlight key aspects of your personality. Last year, they may not have found the right fit, but now, with your improved GMAT score and better-defined short-term and long-term goals, you’re showcasing more perseverance and goal clarity, which can make all the difference.
If that anecdote is crucial to your personality, don’t hesitate to include it again. Your profile is solid, and your short-term goals align perfectly with your current and past roles. Just ensure that your long-term goals are more specific than simply saying you want to start a business — which I’m sure you’ve already addressed.

Hi, first time applying for ISB and would like to request for a profile review for R1:
1) 9.8 CGPA in Class X
2) 75% in Class XII Science
3) 7.75 CGPA in Computer Engineering from a Tier 3 Uni
4) GRE 328(161V, 167Q)
5) 30 months work experience in IT Services
I do have diverse extracurricular activities, however, nothing exceptional.
P.S. I did score over 99.7 percentile in CAT 23, but I am assuming it would not add anything in my profile.
