Plz suggest how can i improve my chances for selection in R2.
Hi Ubiquinous, Your academics and what you did in college are good. A balance of academics and EC during college is well reflected in your profile. Being a process manager in Maruti Suzuki, you will have to, in addition to your responsibilities, bring out certain aspects which make you unique among all others who are handling similar profile. Obviously, this is for later stages at application and interview and not here, but just highlighting the necessity of that. Target a GMAT of 675 an above. That will make your candidature strong. Needless to mention, you can qualify at lower scores as well but a better GMAT will reduce the anxiety in further rounds. Best Wishes.

Profile Evaluation – Indian Army Doctor | 5 YOE | 60% MBBS | Target: ISB 2028

Background:

MBBS graduate, Indian Armed Forces Medical Services

5 years of work experience; 3 years as Officer Commanding of a Medical Coy under NCC; 2 years as medical officer in counter insurgency areas

Leading a national-level policy reform for NCC medical cadet curriculum (in collaboration with NMC)

2 clinical research papers published (leprosy focus)

Academics:

Class 10: 8.5 CGPA

Class 12: 79%

MBBS: 60%

Target Program:

ISB (Fall 2028 intake)

Extras:

Strong leadership in high-pressure environments

Public health, disaster readiness, and training implementation experience

Queries:

Realistic scholarship chances?

Weak UG score offset by profile strength?

Target GMAT for scholarship competitiveness?

Would appreciate any thoughts on profile strength, GMAT goals, and positioning. Thanks in advance!
Hi ! Your profile seems good, keeping in mind the diversity. When I was director of admissions at ISB, we used to get around 30 applications or so every year from similar background. You cannot offset any not so strong components but try to score on other parameters. YOu should target at least 655 or so in Focus Edition. However, the most crucial thing for you would be your essyas and interviews. Also, your career goals? Why you are not considering an AMP instead of PGP. These are almost inevitable questions. Sir, thank you for the response, with what I have researched as of now; I’m planning to switch over corporate executive roles in healthcare industry which PGP might help me get into than AMP. Also, since AMP is a certification course my preference will be PGP. Any clarifications on the same is appreciable sir, thank you.

Hello. I do not think transcript are necessary at this stage. While applying in r1 is sent a mail to adcom confirming grade card is okay at the application stage

People with a better GMAT/GRE score do not always get an admit.

So, if not just the GMAT/GRE score, then what else? Reducing everything else to just diversity would be an over-simplification though.

You might find this article useful.
