If you have used the RASCI matrix, you as the applicant are the R and the A, while a consultant is the S and C. Not everybody needs a consultant. Nor should a consultant be seen as outsourced labor.

Consultants can guide you in the right direction, often making your application more efficient, polished better, and help you present stories that are more compelling. Such applications frequently get considered for higher scholarships as well.
That said, does everyone need a consultant to get into a B School? Hell, no...
So, you have to take a call whether or not you need a consultant

How to start preparing for interviews and essays ?

Should I hire a consultant and follow his advice. Or should I do self prep on my own before taking a help of consultant.

As I don’t have any idea , what’s the average pricing for a consultant ? I know it varies , still a median range for them .

So, you have to take a call whether or not you need a consultant.

Prices are probably not the best way to look for the right consultant, but do explore a few. Check if the person speaking with you would also be working with you, check the limits on sessions and so on

I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate from MNNIT Allahabad with over 6 years of experience across the corporate, development, and consulting sectors. I began my career as a Design Engineer at L&T, working on international projects. Driven by my passion for impactful change, I transitioned to the development sector as a Project Associate at Better World Foundation (BWF), and later as a PPIA Fellow with Transform Rural India (TRIF), where I led grassroots governance and development initiatives in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
Currently, I am working with EY LLP as a Project Consultant, based at the District Administration office in Chaibasa, Jharkhand, where I serve as the Programme Officer for Livelihood and Skill Development. Gave my gmat and scored 645 yesterday. Hence asking .

Average acads : around 80 in school and 70 in grads .

Work profile : around 10 years experience in sales and marketing, currently serving as avp - sales for a recent logistics startup .

I want to start early as I have a lot to work on my profile and essays .

With whatever limited information you have provided, seems a decent profile overall.

Make sure that your professional goals do no wildly stray away from your core competence in your one decade of experience: Marketing.

I personally had a good experience with TTP

The cons are that it is time consuming and you should be comfortable with self learning

Volt by abheshiek jain. Its has memory techniques to remember words and indeed a very good book
But the catch is it does not hav more than 200 words
