Depends on the questions. Can vary majorly. I got one wrong in quant in the actual exam and got an 81st percentile
Got Q2 wrong which is early but mine may be a bit of an outlier

Range of how many you can get wrong in quant is low. Higher for the other 2 sections

Example: Got 6 wrong in DI, 90th percentile still

While this is a very logical question to ask, but it has been debated endlessly, unfortunately with no definitive answers.

The reason for this obviously is that GMAT is an adaptive exam and hence your score depends not just on the number of questions one gets correct but also on the difficulty level of those questions. Candidates have no direct influence on the difficulty level of questions that GMAT comes up with.

Hence rather than worrying about the number of questions you can afford to get wrong, just give your best in terms of:

  1. Concept clarity doing your preparation
  2. A lot of practice to reinforce those concepts
  3. Giving your best in the exam

I know this is all very common sensical and matter of fact but this really is the best that any candidate can do.

Good luck with your prep.

Hello,

Is 655 with a work experience of 3.5 Years in a B2B Centaur in Strategy team (Office of COO) good enough? Or should I take GMAT again?

Profile bottom-line summary:
- XII: 85.6%
- UG (Commerce | Account & Finance Major): 8.92/10
- 3 years of AIESEC (NPO present in 120+ countries)
- Internships at ICICI Securities & Red Bull in UG
- 2 years of local NGO
- Founded the finance & investment club in UG

Looking for experts advice, not sure how the geopolitical paradigm shift will affect R1 for Co'27?

AniketK2000, before suggesting that you retake the GMAT, I would like to know how much you were scoring in official mocks before your attempt? If you were scoring above 655, it might not be a bad idea for you to reattempt the GMAT once; after all, you already have a very decent 655 and have nothing to lose in your reattempt.

You have quite a decent profile Aniket. However, you have not mentioned which college you did your undergrad from. Being in the strategy team is a definite plus. Also I do not get a sense of your post ISB goals.

Hello AniketK2000 - What was the sectional split of your GMAT, and was it in line with your expectations/ mocks?

If you expected to score higher and/ or foresee an improvement if you were to retake, a retake would be worth it.

Work-ex looks interesting, but we'd need more details to assess better e.g. which companies, career progression/ promotions, etc.

All the best!

Hi all, sharing below my profile for ISB R1 PGP:

Class X: 10/10 CGPA
Class XII: 96%, Science stream
Undergraduation: 81%, BTech Civil Engineering from IIT Kanpur
Work experience: 22 months (as of today), American Express
GMAT FE: 655

I would like to take the exam again, but my mock scores (in the official mocks) have been pretty volatile recently - ranging from 615 to 695. In the worst case scenario, if I don’t get a better score than 655, what is the probability of getting an interview call?
I know that the average GMAT FE score for ISB converts was 675 in the previous batch, so my profile is below average considering that.

What is your nature of work at Amex?

With a 655, there are always chances; after all, your academic pedigree is strong.

Having said that, the hope will definitely be that you hit the upper end of your scoring ability, as evinced in your range of mock scores.

Ok, you are working on the in thing.

Technical work is really what a person with 2 years of experience is supposed to be doing. One cannot and should not become a manager on day-1:)

Good luck!
