I have an off-campus interview with a McCombs alum next week.
Haven't heard anything from Ross and Haas, which are the other 2 apps I applied in R2.

I withdrew my NUS admit as the placement scene there is poor in the Tech Mgmt area.

Good luck on your apps. I am sure you will do well.

togafoot
Unlucky Sperinko... Where else are you waiting for replies?
NUS no longer the favourite of my admitted choices now, mainly because of the poor impression i'm getting from the current students.

sorry to hear that sperinko! :(

I'm just tired of waiting, even though it's only been less than 2 weeks. I just want to hear yes or no so I can finally make my decision.

Thanks toDoorNot...yeah...I am very disappointed with the decisions I have got so far.
Sometime later, I am going to paste the DING essays in the forum to get some perspectives on how I could have written it better.

tough luck sperniko...hope Haas treats you better.

I had my Kellogg phone interview yesterday. My interview was originally waived, and then I was invited to do a phone talk.. I think I did well, but phone interviews can get realy awkward if the interviewer is taking notes. I just didn't get any reaction from him while I was talking, and there were these 1-2 second silences after I finish my answers. I didn't know if wanted me to continue or he was just finishing up writing notes. Anyway, he atleast said some of my answers made a lot of sense...

The interview was for about 40mins overall and was stress free. Here are the questions -

1) Tell me about yourself
2) So why MBA now?
3) Why is Kellogg the best place to do it?
4) What courses will you take?
5) OKay, give me three adjectives you would associate leaders with.
6) Asked me if I managed people and if I have written appraisals. I said yes, and he asked me how I developed a member of my team. I screwed up this one pretty bad.
7) What am I most proud of. I ummmed, ahhhed for a while and finally told him about a personality trait rather than an achievement. He seemed to like the answer.
8) Any questions for me?

Definitely did better than my GSB interview, but my GSB app was a lot better. Very likely I will end up at niether.

Well I think we finally found a place to allow our dog. We were seriously considering buying a condo but decided that if we didnt sell our house that would be way more stressful. Once we found someone willing to accept our dog it was an easy decision just to lease and not stress about the whole thing. My wife also informed me that it appears that we will be living in the same building as Faceman and his fiance.

Which building did you end up in? I sign my lease next week (when I have access to a fax machine). Been out of the office all week.

Oh, you mean the one with the 100 meter lap pool, the huge gym, maid service, and someone who puts together power point presentations for Kellogg students so they don't have to do any work? I didn't know you were joining me there. Sweet!

Seriously though, I'm glad you found a place that will accept your man-sized dog!

Yes it is a load off our minds to have found a place where we can bring the dog. Well I should say owner since most condo complexes dont care but a lot of owners do. Most of my discussions went something like:

Me: I see you allow pets, is that cats only or will you accept a dog.
Them: Sure we would allow a dog.
Me: She is 75 pounds but well behaved and quiet.
Them: Oh 75 pounds? Sorry but thats too big, I really want to limit it to 25 pounds.

Beggars can't be choosers, we didnt get the ideal unit or anything but we got in the building we wanted without having to buy a unit. Has all our requirements, especially laundry in the unit which is huge when you have a dog. Plus the unit has one thing we are very happy to have, no neighbors on either side which is good for us and for the dog. She doesnt bark in our house but we have never lived with neighbors in the room one wall over, so for all I know she would howl at them. Faceman, I think our significant others are looking forward to this more than us at this point.

No kidding...I think they are "bff"s already. I'm looking forward to it, too, though...should be a good time.

BAHAHAHA thats pretty funny. I am glad though, I think it will make the transition that much easier when they can show up day one and know someone well. That and your fiance is a Sox fan so she wins huge points right there haha. I think my wife is rooting for mgoblue2 to go to Kellogg too, they got along with his gf too. Pretty soon they are going to form the gmatclub's significant others group, they can recruit MBA2010s bf too join too.

I think my bf also found his bff at DAK...a fellow Kellogg widower who's staying behind in SF :)
