Nervous, at least with the scholarship from Kellogg you can base your decision on where you want to go not just where it economically makes the most sense. As big a kellogg fan as I am, I must admit watching the national weather I wish it had Duke's climate these days. I will have to hike through the snow to class next winter but at least I wont be shoveling a long driveway.

river, how about filing a petition at Kellogg to create an "exchange" winter quarter program with Duke?
Kellogg's students will be happy to get out of Chicago for 3 brutal winter months, while Dukies will be happy to snatch up a chance to study at M7 school. ;)

River, please get on this petition as soon as possible. Preferrably before April 15 :-)

Just get on a GIM trip to Australia, Thailand, or Dubai. Once you thaw out, you'll be ready to rock back in Evanston.

that would make me want to go to Kellogg more if there's a winter quarter exchange program... say with Duke or Haas :P

Ha, though they do have plenty of exchange opportunities to nice warm locals. Just remember to pick a GIM trip to Africa instead of Russia. Honestly, I really dont mind the cold, its just that shoveling all this snow is getting tiresome. Besides we will be spending so much time studying we wont be able to enjoy the outdoors all that much. Although, one has to wonder if the higher yield of R2 applicants has to do with DAK II being in mid april not mid february. You could easily pick out who was not from a cold weather climate, I mean CFAMiami was shivering inside the bar and saying he was freezing while wearing a coat indoors. Its got to be tough going into one airport where its 80f and coming out of another one that is 8f...enough layers and its comfortable.

As for your handle duke, its not all that unusual for people to have the same issue with choosing a name that no longer fits. nervousgmat is an example of that. I mean there are lots of folks with schools in their names that dont end up there. You can always create a new one if you need to after you make your decision.

Nope. Actually, it was called the "Here's a little money, but you may want to go into investment banking for a few years" Scholarship.

Yep, that will be me. I have spent my life in West Africa and Atlanta. And by my definition, Atlanta does not have a mild winter

Haha...I love it! That's exactly what I thought. I was sitting at my desk and I said aloud, without realizing I was actually saying it aloud, "Hmm. Guess I'm going back to investment banking." My friends at work yelled "NOOO don't do it!!!" at me. I didn't expect anything because they are not about to give any bankers big grants, so I'll take it, but...*sigh.* I'm not thrilled about completely liquidating my savings, so for now at least, the dark side (aka i banking) continues to beckon....

On another note, I did not get the GSB fellowship I was up for, BUT I am actually happy about it. I didn't want money to be the reason I go one place or another (unless by some miracle I had gotten lots from both places...a girl can dream, right?...but I still don't forget how grateful I am just for the admits). I want to go where I feel truly happy. I don't have my heart set on GSB (yet, though things can change I guess), so I wasn't disappointed. Though I'll have to make the final call after the GSB Admit weekend starting tomorrow!

You can easily pay off your loans with a GM or Marketing salary. Its better to love what you do and not be completely loaded than to hate it but suffer just for the money. Apollo you might meet the man of your dreams at school, just make sure its a banker haha.

Nah, you're probably the only one who was given a significant enough amount of $$ to be worth posting :P But we appreciate the info, and this will help us help you decide on where to go in the end, hahah :P

Ahhh, yes you are, but I don't mind sharing - they are giving me $12K per year. I'll take it!
