God it has taken every ounce of control I can muster during my responses to finwannabe to NOT say I hope you DONT get in because I dont want to be stuck working in a group with someone like you that caves under the slightest bit of stress.

Burger, I picture him as shaking at his desk all day hitting F5 constantly as he goes from Admin411, BW, and the Kellogg status page. I love how everyone over there is so concerned about profiles. I have found out that 4 lines of data points is not going to tell you enough about anyone to gauge their true chances.

Hey now, I am guilty of checking my status page about once every 1/2 hour this afternoon :) But yeah, BW is a wreck. And I TOTALLY agree, if he does get in, make sure you scope him out early at Kellogg and avoid any projects with him!

I just went to BW and there are a bunch of people saying they have just gotten emails with WL. Guess who responded immediately with another stressed out questions?

Hey hey!! No e-mail for me yet! Still alive...

Bored at work, so went over to admissions411.com and saw that Chicago has a 27% acceptance rate in R1, while K has 20% currently. So I assume this to be due to one of three things

1. Population bias
2. K is tougher to get in this? considering everyone expected GSB to be one of the toughest schools to get in this season
3. More admits coming from K over the next two days?

Chicago has the same acceptance rate as last year (according to the data) but K has a much lower rate (almost 50% of last year).

Mindless drivel :)

From Ad411, Cornell, UNC, NYU, MacCombs all are more seletive than GSB, so...
With so many "private profiles" and as we don't know how reliable are the numbers, I wouldn't take it too seriously.

Between K and C, my perpection is that historicaly K is a little bit harder to get into. And as River have already mentioned, it's unusual for people to get into both...

I completely agree Kwam and I know it does not tell us much. But I have noticed that the overall 'trend' at ad411 is reasonably accurate. ie. you do find on there that H/ S has a much lower selectivity than the rest and stuff.

Actually of the three schools you have listed- for R1 or EA, cornell has a 34% acceptance rate and UNC has a 50% acceptance rate and NYU has not yet given out their results. Historically, I think NYU though is one of the tougher Elite schools to get into with an acceptance rate of ~20%.

Anyways- as I said, this is just some mindless analysis on a boring work day :)

I think that the more telling thing on admin411 is the number of applicants for Kellogg vs Chicago. I really expected GSB to have more than Kellogg on there this year. I guess this is a good sign for Kellogg, it would be great for it to jump back up to #1 in the BW rankings and #4 in USnews. I personally dont care about rankings but a lot of people do. I think the higher ranked helps increase applications, which allows them to be more selective, which means a better graduating class.

Come on KREEP, for every nutty there are half a dozen people who would probably be great additions. One great thing about here is that this place is very very heavily moderated unlike BW. A post in poor taste wont last long and neither will the poster.

Seems like no news today so far. There is still plenty of time though, especially for admits who get the calls in the early evening. If not then I guess everyone can expect to know Monday. At least this will put an end to the wait for everyone.

Good luck to all... By the way, I haven't heard of Kellogg since I submitted Part I. I requested an off campus Interview in Paris. Do I need to wait for them to contact me ?

They will give pair you with an alum if there is one...if there isn't they will waive it or give you a phone interview. It can take a long time, especially in a place like Paris where there probably aren't as many alums interviewing when compared to a place like NYC or Boston.

What is an acceptable frequency to contact the alum for interview? I talked with mine on 28th Dec when he said he would like to do it in the next 4 days, but has not responded after that. Is calling him once a week to schedule the interview too frequent ?
