A number of people are reporting waitlists for Kellogg on BW, which seems out of character based on Kellogg's R1 practice. Strange.

Yeah it is a bit strange. I am not sure about the volume of R2 apps at Kellogg. Some other schools like Chicago Booth and Ross have made it abundantly clear that R2 apps have been either down or flat. Has there been any official word from Kellogg in this regard?

I don't think anything official, but I have heard a number of hearsay sorts of reports of applications being down in R2.

Hmm..if that is infact the case then I fail to understand the mystery behind waitlisting applicants four weeks before the decision date without having reviewed all the applications and without having interviewed all the candidates either.

The only thing I can think of is that some applicants may have certain specific weaknesses in their applications and the ad com are sure right now that they will not be able to offer admission to these applicants anyway come March 30th.

Hey river/others who applied last year:

Do you remember if Kellogg released decisions over spring break last year, or did they take a hiatus the same way most schools do over the Xmas holidays?

When is the NW Spring break this year btw? Found it a bit hard to decipher from this:

Spring Break is officially the 23rd - 27th, but because of GIM most of the school is gone the 16th - 20th (early exams are the 14th and 15th for GIM, but anyone can take their exams early, and most do so they can get a longer break).

Not sure if Adcom suspends decisions over the break or not - I was a round 1 applicant, so wasn't paying attention hehe.

I'm gonna go on a limb and say they probably wouldn't ding anyone this close to the weekend. (Though I'm admittedly contradicting the 'always lay off/fire people on a Friday' principle). Probably just a case where this week was spent reading a lot of new apps and so forth. When you think about it there's still 16 solid business days ahead before the deadline, doesn't surprise me that most of us haven't heard anything.

I was asked for a copy of the Official GMAT Score Report late last week. Is that a good sign?

Nice dude. Weird it's taking so long for an official call/email though.

Congrats on your admit :)

Not so fast. You're actually required to submit your Official GMAT Score Report at the application deadline. They were likely reviewing your file and realized they didn't have the official. If they ask for your Official Transcripts, that would be the time to celebrate. In any event, best of luck. Here's to hoping for admits for both of us!

Kellogg is self-reported. You don't submit official GMAT until Matriculations. The only school that I applied to that required official GMAT scores at Submission was Michigan. R1 had a lot of people who had request for Official transcript, but I don't recall any request for official GMAT.

Well, in that case, I guess I should just not even think about it. However, I think if they weren't seriously considering admitting me they wouldn't bother - they would have my self reported score anyhow. But then again, who knows. Just hope I get in.

I'm assuming you sent the report to them ASAP, right? Via email?

No - I was away interviewing elsewhere so I had to wait until I came back home. Did send it via e-mail when I returned, though, which was very recent.
