Basically there are 4 types of messages this year. Which message did the admits have prior to the status being changed to the admission?

From BW Post:

1) The original with the Tuesday and Friday times

2) The new one which removes that Tues/Friday line

3) The new one which removes that Tues/Friday line and replaces it with: When a decision has been rendered, the Office of Admissions will send you an email notifying you to check your status for your decision. Decisions will be released throughout the round, but the majority of decisions will be released during the last several weeks of the round.

4) One asking for your official transcript

I believe there are only two. 3 & 4. A couple on BW thought they had a different one but later clarified...

Isn't there also the "status unknown" status that immediately precedes the ding?

hi everybody,
with trembling hands and lot of anxiety, I dared to check my status on Kellogg status check. it still says all material for application review complete and revised message regarding notifying by mail once the admission decision has been rendered... so for now, i am still in the race. I am from Asia, and really amazed with the happenings over night. though Gmatclub has not reported any admits, but Bweek reports two admits and couple of dings as well. So now things are moving pretty fast. let us hope for the best. best of luck to every one.

Don't read too much into the messages. I know last year some message (the "transcript" one) signaled an admit or a ding pretty well, but who knows what they're doing this year, unless river, steel or some others are part of the admissions team can tell us. :P

Anyway, sorry to hear about the dings, and congrats to the admits! Good luck y'all and try not to press F5 too much.

I know a number of people have said that there is no relation between the interview date and decision date , however I had my interview on 24 November. On the phone, i was told i would get my decision in January close to the deadline... Do they say this to everyone after the adcomm interview ? The only point is would they consolidate my file this quickly ?

Damn the wait is killin !! :)

I don't suppose anyone has heard on BW or elsewhere if any JD/MBA applicants have been admitted/dinged yet? I wonder if the timeframe for JD/MBA decisions are any different than regular 2 year MBA decisions.

There has to be some correlation because the committee can't review your file until the interview report has been submitted..

I don't think there's a correlation. Last year this blogger got the admit call a week after her interview:

I would think so. Doesn't law school admissions also have to review your app? This is in contrast to MMM, where the engineering school doesn't review the app and admissions is decided upon by Kellogg.

It says that they do on the website, but since no LSAT score is required, I wonder how much say the law school office has over the application, especially since Kellogg is relatively more highly ranked and regarded than Northwestern Law is. The alum who I interviewed with said that he thought that basically Kellogg decides and they tell the law school that the 20 or so people who are admitted to the program each year are going to be enrolled at the law school as well. I'm not sure how accurate that is.

Oh cool, they matched you up with a JD/MBA alum? NW law is no slouch, ranked #9 by US News.
