I actually MISSED the friggin call! Can you believe that? I've been pulling my hair out for the last week, sleeping with one eye open and one on my blackberry, and then I miss the call. That kind of burst my excitement bubble. It's kinda like accidentally finding the engagement ring the day before the proposal. Still, I'm glad the wait is over. I need to know if $$$$ is attached.

This process is so baffling! I echo others' concerns - I felt that this was one of my strongest applications, and to get dinged outright is really causing me to second-guess the quality of my other applications. Waiting for decisions is definitely the toughest part of this whole process.

Congratulations to all who have been accepted... quite an accomplishment!

haha, good analogy, but I am sure you are still excited :)
Since I will be working in an area without cell phone signal for the next few days, I would be more than happy to get a voice mail from Kellogg :P

Congrats to people who're admitted. No news yet here.
But I did notice that the admitted profiles are MUCH younger compared to the last time I applied. The number of 24yr old applicants gettin in is impressive.

I thought of a data point which many ppl are ignoring when accounting for baffling decisions on excellent profiles.
Are you sure your recommenders did complete justice to your candidacy? I haven't gotten a decision yet and I'm gonna talk to my recommender today, just to set my expectations clear, if he gave me a "great" reco or a good one. In a tight application year as this one, that can make a difference. And that's one thing you can change for your R2s.
Just my 2 cents.
