To those who are wait-listed, it is worthwhile reaching out to the admissions office. They will even go over your file with you on the phone. Super nice people. Whatever the outcome, I am very impressed by the professionalism of Kellogg's admissions office.
This is a great info. Thanks so much. When you say "go over your file" do you mean they provided feedback on why you were on the waitlist vs. being admitted? If not, what type of information was relayed? Thanks!!
This is where my long 6 month wait on the waitlist becomes helpful. So with Kellogg, at least last year, they basicly have 2 buckets. People who have things that they need to address vs people who are just like on the border. If you're in the first bucket, the Adcom may tell you what it is and let you know how you can address it, whether better gmat, another class, more discription about something in your applicaiton. If you're in the second bucket (this is me), they will just say that there is nothing wrong with your profile and they are waiting to see how the class turns out.
In the Waitlist email, it should ask if you want to remain on the waitlist. You should probably email them that you are interested in remaining on the waitlist, and you can update them on why you love kellogg, what have you done to learn more about kellogg, or general updates. Be a little strategic, I rushed into it.
