To everyone on the wait list, what does it mean to be wait listed while they continue handing out admits? Does this mean that they have a lot of your type already and are simply focusing on diversity? It is worth pondering.
Well most waitlist candidates fall in into two categories:
1) Those the school finds to be good candidates, but have a weakness in one area. Either GPA,GMAT, ECs etc.
2) Those the schools finds to be good candidates, but they have already selected a few applicants with very similar background, and would like to see how diverse the applicants applying in R2 are. Most candidates fall in this category.
For me, i got the message from my waitlist manager that my pool is very competitive for Rd1,(

, thats not a surprise at all) and they would like see how Rd2 pans out.
