Hi Guys, Just started filling the apllication but have few questions

Questions regarding Part 1.

1. Do we need to submit all the required fields of part 1 before the deadline?

2. Can we change any information from part one after submiting the same but before submitting part 2?

Thanks

In this case you would need to contact the Admission office to have them change it from within the system, once you submit part 1 you cannot change it.

1. yes 2. no

If you would want to make changes or update your info like, say you got a promotion, contact admissions yourself and let them know of any updates to your profile.

Can someone please post the recommender questions? I'm not applying until RD 2 so I'm not opening an app yet, but I'd like to put together a recommender packet early on and I want to give them a heads up on what they will be asked. Thanks.

Here you go.

Hi,

I have put in my Part 1 application and asked for an off campus interview in Singapore.

Now the wait begins. Anyway can now concentrate on my essays.

A quick update about the Kellogg event in Singapore which i attended ( first time for Kellogg in Singapore). The AdCom did answer a lot of questions about the admission process, the job situation for internationals and the loan availability too.
At least Kellogg has a no-cosigner loan for us, albeit with a higher interest. They also seem to hint that the interview, if not waived, is a very important factor in their decisions.

Most of the alumni ( all graduated in last two years) which i met were into Consulting post MBA. Seems like Management Strategy is the next popular major after Marketing. All of them gave kudos to the Student Run Culture, the leadership opportunities, the Kellogg Connections ( especially in USA and Asia) etc, though they did say that there might be complaints about the AdCom not doing enough for the students. I guess there are both pros and cons for the Kellogg Culture. ( More the former than the latter).

The event just reinforced my decision that Kellogg is the school where I want to do my MBA.

All the best to all.

bye

qlemon,

I believe there are a couple of reasons why that line is in Part 1:

1. Some candidates may be performing a function not accurately portrayed by their title. Ths could be because they have taken on added responsibilities not reflected in the job title yet.
2. Some HR job titles include grades, for example Process Engineer - I/II or Analyst -1 etc...

If you are unaware of the HR title I believe you can leave it blank. It is optional.

Basically, the HR job title is what you will have on your employment letter. At my workplace, we have HR job titles, and then the ability to use our own on business cards, etc.

Just Submitted Part I, however I did not get a confirmation email.
Anyone know how long that takes??

I'm still not sure if I need to interview or not though since I'm a reapp.

I didn't receive an email until I scheduled my interview. Upon doing that I was sent an email immediately.

Oh as an FYI, make sure you put Kelloggs email in your "NOT SPAM" filters. Last year gmail filtered it as spam and I didn't get it until 3 weeks afterwards when I just happen to be checking my spam filter.

Here is that email address for any of those that are curious, so you don't have to search through your email to find it

Like ACNGuy said, it takes a couple of days to get the email stating that the Admissions office has received your Part One. When I received the email (about a day and a half after submitting Part One online), I called the Admissions Office and scheduled the interview immediately.

Sounds like more people have finished Part 1 and are scheduling interviews. Since this will probably be the first one for most of us (except reapps or EA rounds), let's start discussing interview preps and how to make the first school interview just as strong as later ones. Well, on second thought, it might be a good idea to finish the essays first!

Few Question regarding part 1 application. Thanks for help.

1. In the Employment History part, for current job, what should be the ending date For example FROM 06 2006 to .... ....... Should I mention till last month, before I take a flight to Kellogg :) for eg: 08 2009?

2. How detailed I should be in answering Activities. Also, I dont have the proofs of positions held during undergraduation. So shall I mention thopse at all

3. For education, Bachelor of Technology in computer Science comes under "Undergraduate-granting degree
" or "Graduate-granting degree" . Its a stupid question I guess.

1). I put next year August for my last day worked if it didn't give me the option of selecting "Current Job"
2). Activities I gave an Org Title, Leadership Roles, and a brief explanation if it wasn't readily apparent what it was
3). Bachelors degrees are Undergraduate Degrees. Graduate Degrees are Masters, Doctorate, etc. degrees.
