I have not started my part 1, so I am not aware of it.

My question is do we get choice of selecting the date in case of off campus interview?

Nice :)

Regarding contractions, I have tried to eliminate them almost everywhere. Im still trying to stick within the 10% word limits though !! 600 words is tough !!!

I have contractions in my essays, I guess I don't mind if they sound informal (within reason).

Hey everyone, just scheduled my interview for Monday Oct 5th. Wondering if anyone will be around then and wants to meet up (although, admittledly it sounds like I'll be pretty busy Class visit in the morning, lunch, interview, then info session and flying out that night). Very excited about this process and very nervous now! How is the parking situation around Kellogg? I'll be renting a car from O'Hare and just need to know how that is. Also, is there a place to confirm on my application the time and date of my interview? Just want to ensure I book everything properly.

Is there a reason that you're renting a car? I parked there and didn't have problems, but I wouldn't have rented a car if I was coming from the airport. When I drove I temporarily parked in a permit area, ran in and got my pass, and then parked my car (all this while it was unfortunately raining), which luckily was not too far away, but if I hadn't found a spot where I did, it may have been really inconvenient.

The guy told me that there is no confirmation so to be sure to write down your interview information, as well as these others things:
Get there 15 minutes early.
Dress business professional.
Interviews are blind.
Bring a copy of your resume.

Does anyone know what time alumni interviews start happening? i.e. If I plan to interview with an alum, would it be beneficial for me to submit Part 1 this week as opposed to two weeks from now?

If my alum interview is completed by end of October / early November, do I stand a good chance of having a decision by the end of December?

Yeah I know I should have wrote it down, but immediately upon hanging up I realized he never confirmed the date with me and I had just forgotten whether it was the 5th or the 6th. In terms of renting a car, I'm flying into ORD and don't want to take the L into the city to transfer and ride it back up to Evanston. Plus, I have more Hertz points than I know what to do with so I figure why not.

There is a bus that goes straight to Davis St in Evanston. Parking will run you about $15 a day if you just park and leave it. I wouldnt try to park on campus walk the 10 minutes from the lot to get there.

Hi all! :)

is anyone submitting optional essay?
I have used my 4th to describe extracurricular, but as I am unemployed now I think I should explain it somewhere. Actually I don't want to do it in Essay 4...

how did you handle this?
and by the way in the "current employer" section of Part 1, what do you put in case you are currently unemployed? Leave the boxes blank?

Thanks!!!

What are yalls thoughts on balance in your essays in terms of talking about professional life vs. extracurricular/about me type stuff. Currently my essays break down like this:

Essay 1: career/work stuff
Essay 2: 1 leadership example from work/1 leadership example from EC (captain of many rec sports teams for a long time)
Essay 3: things i'm passionate about
Essay 4: explore more in depth something I do outside of work that i'm passionate about

Essentially thats 1.5 essays with work stuff and the rest is not. I guess my concern is that I won't give them much insight into what I've done at work which obv is important if I leave my essays as is. I'm considering making both my leadership examples work related so the essays are more balanced (2 and 2) with professional and non-professional essay topics. Thoughts?

Mine is almost the exact same as yours. I spend essay 1 on purely work. Essay 2 is 3/4 work, 1/4 EC. Essays 3 and 4 are purely personal.

I'm impressed that you managed to fit 4 leadership examples in your essay. I'm struggling to talk about just 2 in the limited space.

I think that's probably fine. My essay one is more focused on goals w/some career specifics, my essay two is two work stories, my third is just kind of a hodge podge, and my essay four is about an EC.

I think that's probably fine too. I think essay 3 you're better off focusing on who you are and what you're passionate about (which is really what makes you an interesting classmate, unless you've got a real interesting work background, like you were an astronaut or something like that). Essays 2 and 4 you should focus on whichever stories put you in the best light, whether they're work or EC related. That said, if you don't mention work at all in 2 and 4 you may want to reconsider. Essay 1 is clearly more professionally focused.

My opinion is to keep it one page unless you have over 5 years of experience with multiple companies

Ive got a 1-pager ready to go as well. I think its safe to keep it at that, and not provide too much info to spill over into a second page
