I think there's a calendar on the website that shows when different visit activities are available. You don't have to make an appointment though, just walk in to the admissions office and you can sign up for whatever activities you're interested in that are offered that day. The 3rd week of December is not a good time to visit because it's during our winter break so there won't be any classes, and most students will be on the Ski Trip or heading out of town for the holidays. The admissions office may still be open and offering info sessions, but that's about it.

Kellogg is different than many schools because the interviews are not by invitation. For the most part, every applicant gets interviewed by Kellogg because the adcom believes that the interview is the best way to judge whether a person will fit with the Kellogg culture. The exceptions are for people who request alumni interviews: depending on where you live, how many applicants live near you and how many alumni are near you, it just may not be possible to match everyone up with an alum. In those cases, a waiver is granted and later on if the adcom is interested in your application after reading the rest of it, they will contact you to set up a phone interview.

I'm an R2 applicant. I'm visiting my folks in Illinois for Thanksgiving, so it made sense for me to do the interview now. I believe recommendations are submitted with Part 2.
