still holding on. But uterly confused. There must be some logic to this randomness. Fail to understand what sort of computer system does not let you upload all dings at the same time. I get the rationale behind people getting admit calls on different dates, cause its a live call with a person on the other end.But sending dings in small batches is uterly confusing.

they must be making decisions in batches. doesn't seem to be by interview date or by region, maybe its job function? i'm private equity/i-banking, still waiting

I'm former i-banking, currently corporate strategy. I don't think they would have spent the time sorting them by job function, though. They have also said that they are releasing all types of decisions (admit/waitlist/ding) until 10/20, so I wouldn't just assume everyone is being waitlisted.

Has any one dinged asked for feedback? Is it worth the effort to ask or will the adcom just send another generic missive?

adiace, while I wasn't dinged outright last year (WL), I can say it will likely be tricky to obtain feedback from schools that explicitly state they do not offer it. Even on the waitlist I was generally stone-walled with "we cannot offer you feedback" and I had a direct contact I was assigned.

My advice is to let the dust settle first and review your app with a more clear head in a week or so, and incorporate that into R2. Take a full week break if possible, that's what I had to do to calm myself. After that, it was actually pretty evident what my problems were and I had some real face-palming moments. Hey, it builds character or something...
