driege, thank you so much for forwarding that link. I don't know how I missed that.

Here's what my status says:

Looks like you're in the same boat as me. Nothing to do now but wait. It's a strange feeling after spending months studying for the GMAT, working hard on resumes, essays, interview prep, etc.

If I click through to the Part II "Check Your Application" link, I see this message: "Congratulations, (me)! All required questions have been completed and your Application has been successfully submitted."

You're looking in the wrong place. There is a check application status page on their website that is separate from where you submit the application. You are looking at your submitted app. Check here: https://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/Programs/FullTimeMBA/TakeAction/Check_Application_Status.aspx

Thanks for this, i had no clue i wasnt looking at the right place.

mine too says
All the required elements of your application are complete.

If your interview has been completed, the application has been submitted for review to the admissions committee. If your interview has not been conducted, the application will be submitted to the admissions committee upon completion of the interview. The next status check update will be the admission decision (Admit, Waitlist or Deny). When a decision has been rendered, the Office of Admissions will send you an email notifying you to check your status for your decision. Decisions will be released throughout the round, but the majority of decisions will be released during the last several weeks of the round.

and also displays the link to the interview invite i got 4 weeks back.

I wouldn't worry about checking your status online incessantly until March at the earliest.

Do you know if they update the status online first and then inform the candidate of the outcome? or do they update the status only at a later point?

I'm curious to see if others feel the same way I do. After the interview I was feeling pretty good about it. But, the more I think about it and the more I think that I didn't do too well. In hindsight, I missed many opportunities to showcase why Kellogg is the perfect school for me. Can't stop thinking about it! :| I just want to kick myself...

Kigs,
In R1 there were plenty applicants with interview waivers. Particularly from regions where applicants outweigh available alumni interviewers (India, China, parts of rural Europe and LatAm). Few US based applicants got waivered. Check and go back to some older R1 posts in this thread.

I've tried not to think about it too much. I felt good during the interview and right after. A few hours later I started to question how much I was blathering and fidgeting, then I started to feel bad for a bit. Now I've tried to let it go completely. It will be a few weeks before we hear back - why bother worrying.

Yup, at this point it's best to stop thinking about it and refocus on the things we let slide over the past few months: relationships, friends, travel, work, etc.

And also inteview is just one piece of the whole game. Its by no means an end all..more so at Kellogg which interviews a very high no of apps. it sometimes just boils down to aspects like class profile the adcom has in mind.

Actually - you're right. My interviewer stressed that this at best can provide a slight bump one-way or the other. I think the interview is more like a sanity check to see if you will be a good fit on campus based on your personality. The app is where the real meat lives.

You are right, even my interviewer seemed happy with my interview, gave me some good feedback comments too. In the end left by saying "keep me in touch with the outcome and hopefully you will get to go to Kellogg".

So i guess application essays an other things matter a lot.

My take on the interviews and the feedback they seek from us. A great interview will not get you in, it will at best validate the rest of your application. A weak candidate who interviews incredibly well most likely will get the ding. A decent interview and a strong application will still get you an admit. If you are a borderline it may push you one way or another. However, if you completely tank your interview it is very possible it could keep you out regardless. I mean if you dont speak english, an interviewer may make a strong note and recommend against your admit.

There is a feedback form and they ask for a lot of detail. Its not like we just send an email saying yes/no/maybe.
