Looking pretty grim over here. Interviewed on 9/27 so they have had plenty of time to review (??). There wasn't such a large gap last year between acceptance calls and ding emails. What gives? If they finalized a bunch of decisions yesterday then I'm sure someone was loading up ding notifications into the system last night and today.

Did anyone who was accepted yesterday receive any news about money? Maybe they're just finalizing my scholarship offer?? (nervous unconvincing laughter)......

I don't think it's time to give up hope yet. Last year, they gave out just as many admits the second day of calls as the first, and we still have all of next week. Last year, they split the calls between these two weeks. That said, as it gets to the end of next week, wait list is the likely outcome.

I agree- only 1 day has passed so there's no way that they informed all the R1 admits already! Also, during my obssession phase I read through the 2008 and 2009 threads and people were getting calls daily. Even read about a couple guy getting called for admits on the deadline day so no need to think it's over. :)

To those people who closely followed the 2008 and 2009 threads - are calls made only in the afternoon CST? In other words, can I breathe easy till 1pm and actually work on my other essays? :!:

Hey everyone - I've been lurking as I have a few friends applying this year, and I'm trying to take my mind off of my last final this afternoon (ski trip on Saturday!). I'm a 2012 2Y at Kellogg, and I can ensure you that Kellogg calls admits up until the decision deadline! Don't lose hope. You've all worked very hard to get to this place, don't forget that. I myself was notified the final day of decisions in R2 (with a scholarship no less), so Kellogg truly admits people throughout the decision period. My roommate was also notified at 4:00pm the Friday before the decision deadline (it was on a Monday last year. Imagine my weekend before I heard...). I know notes like this didn't always help with my stress last year, but I really hate seeing so much negativity after only one day. I don’t remember when I interviewed, when I hit submit, etc., but I really don’t think that matters. Excited to meet the admits at DAK! Congratulations.

Just as an FYI ...
When I interviewed late Nov on-campus, adcom member asked me if I was R1 or R2 applicant (!). And when I told him that I was R1, he said that in that case, they would put my file on some urgent or express (I am able to recollect the exact word) queue for review.

So my guess is that they have reviewed all the files, except for those from folks who are yet to be interviewed, and have a fairly decent idea on whom they want admit. And those calls should not go on beyond Friday 5 PM CST. The trickling that we will see are for those who have had their interview in Dec or something.

Just my 2 cents anyway...

I think it varies - mostly in the afternoon with some exceptions - although Ding emails seem to be first thing in the morning or at the end of the day.

Just to get a clearer picture though - NONE of the folks on this forum who've been accepted thus far are 1Y applicants, right?

I'm a 1Y applicant, international, but in the US.

Is it sad that I can't even take a sh** or shower in peace anymore? I take my phone with me, and have the volume turned up to high at all times.

I'm with you. I think my anticipation is going to reach feaver pitch this afternoon. I'm going to the gym at lunch and I'll have my blackberry on me.

Also, your avatar picture cracks me up everytime I see it. Well played sir (or madam, but I'm pretty sure you're sir since you referenced taking a sh** in your last post. If not then especially well played madam)
