I hope for summer waitlist they give us a waitlist rank, so we know how much hope we have At that point it would be more about who is ready to come at such short notice than anything else.

Who knows how they've historically delivered decisions after the R3 deposit deadline? That week? Slowly over the following months?

I think the correct response to your question is that it doesn't matter. Every year they do things differently. Obviously, this year they are behind in the process if they haven't submitted summer WL status emails/calls to those on the summer WL, as they stated would happen last week.

Bottom line - if you get accepted, you'll most likely hear when someone decides they want to go to another school. It appears the class is full, so you won't hear anything until after June 6th, which is the payment deadline. If someone drops, you will probably hear something fairly close to that date.

I'm guessing around June 6th, they'll start dinging more people and leave a handful on the summer WL.

What are the forums thoughts regarding Kellogg vs. Duke? I've been listing pros and cons, but just curious other's thoughts. I realize fit is most important, which is leaning me toward Duke, but just curious about other's thoughts.

There is already a talk about MBA bubble, even Stanford acknowledges it, but as it is a smaller program they think it wont affect them as much .Duke is not considered top 10, I feel everyone can find one or two fits in the top 10 schools. If you want to start this yr, then accept duke and probably let go of deposit when you get kellogg, or continue at Duke. MBA is so much about branding then anything else. the coursework at all schools is outdated, though recently they are revamping the curriculum.

Actually, Duke is considered top 10, and the entire school itself, has a better brand than several of those dubbed top 10 (esp. when you take into account undergrad alum). There is a lot more loyalty with Duke than I have seen at several of the other programs.

I think both Kellogg and Duke are fantastic programs. The difference in ranking, even if statistically significant, is not enough to change the career path you are already on. If your career goal is X and you are currently working in Y, obviously you've demonstrated the rationale from Y to X well enough, otherwise you wouldn't have been admitted at Duke and WLed at Kellogg. You walk into a B-school with that strength/weakness already established, and schools can't do magics for you.

When did your status change? Was this today? Did they tell you by a status update or did you just check on your own?

I must say that I'm than slightly disappointed at the lack of communication from the admin office over the past few months. Then again, I guess they don't really care that much about people who won't be part of their incoming class.

No they did not. I would have asked but I was at a loss for words. By the way, I sent one update letter.
