finally got my off-campus alumni interview assignment; i emailed the guy and am waiting for a response.
Same for me, I got my alumni interview assignment and e-mailed the alumna this wednesday and I am waiting for her answer.
I am wondering if I can call her on Monday or is it too early? (I'm travelling in 10 days so I need to do the interview before)

Since you have a short time window, I don't think it would be out of line to call on Monday. Maybe wait until the afternoon, though, to give the alumna a chance.

Submitted and prepping for my on-campus interview on the 28th.

Also scheduled my interview for Jan 28th! Will you be doing any class visits, campus tours, etc?

My interview is on Jan 28 as well..
Will the interviewer have access to my application package including essays..?

No, the interviewer will just have your resume (which you send them) and your interview itself as data points. They will not read your essays or application.

Thanks a lot for the info, spivey181! Have you decided on which school you are matriculating by the way?

No, right now I am deciding how to split the admitted students' weekend, since both Kellogg and Booth have it on Feb 10-11.

I am also waiting to hear from MIT and HBS (applied R2).

Hi Everyone

I have question regarding the Kellogg Application Status Check Link. After I submitted the Part I application it said

"After Part II of your application has been submitted, the next update will confirm whether or not all application materials have been received. Due to the high volume of applications that are submitted near the application deadline, please allow several weeks of process time for our staff to match all materials and to verify all required items have been received"

But even after submitting the part II in time the status does not change in this website. Did anybody face the same problem ?

Thanks

Hi, Maxkrewl,

When did you submit part II? Was it several weeks ago? It sounds like the above instructions say it may take several weeks after you submit Part II for the status to change.

Also, your application status will not show as complete until after your interview or you are issued a waiver. If you have already interviewed then give it a few weeks for the status to update.

I am from India and I have selected Mumbai as an interview location, has anyone else from India selected the same location and has been invited for an interview?

People might think it should be a formality to get an interview invite, people from India seem to face this problem due to lack of alums around.

So, I am ready to travel anywhere in India for the interview. Can I call or mail the ad com and inform them about this? Are such requests entertained?

I think you could call them and see if this help, but I think the thing you have lost with Kellogg and what most lose is what Kellogg views for the interview.

The reason individuals get waived is not because they are going to get rejected, but as you stated simply because they do not have the support to interview many people or any people in specific areas. The waiver, is not a ding but simply letting you know they are reviewing your application. If after review they like your application, they will be sure they make every effort possible to interview you. I think this actually provides you a better understanding of where you stand with Kellogg then people who get interviewed without a waiver.

The only reason I could see stressing about being waived, is if you think your interview adds a lot to your application. If you think your application does not need the interview to even be a marginal candidate, I would say you are fine and not worry too much about the Kellogg interview.

My fear stems from the fact that I am a reapplicant and I was rejected without an interview last year.

What would you suggest for such a case?

Slightly different then the other posts of fears of being waived. I think there are 4 options here.

Option 1: is to do everything to get an interview done without being waived. Not sure how much of this you can control. I do suggesting calling admissions, letting them know you are flexible and see if that helps. Odds are they are not going to ask anyone to travel for an interview, so I do not know what you can do their.

Option 2: Only sure fire way to get an interview is to travel to the states and interview on campus. I know there is a huge cost associated with it, but it would guarantee the interview.

The next 2 are a bit more idealistic, so bare with me.
Option 3: Kellogg sees you are a re-applicant and realizes you were not interviewed last year. They prioritize your interview slot and ensured you are not skipped over the initial pass this time to provide you with a holistic review.

Option 4: You have been able to address the gaps they saw last year in your application and you move from not even being a fringe candidate to being a fringe or sure fire candidate baring the interview. You get the interview request either before waiver (which really would not fall into this option) or get the invite after waiver.

Good luck with whichever option you choose! Keep us posted on how it works out

If I were you I'd consider sending a follow-up note or calling his business phone if need be. I would be hesitant his home since as I would any business acquaintance unless it's an emergency. That sort of oversteps the boundaries of work and personal life and may rub some people the wrong way. Obviously the school provided the information, but my next step would be to call the Kellogg contact up and see how best to proceed.

I believe the email said that the school would find alternative ways to contact your interviewer if you did not hear back, not that they would assign a new one. Still, I would send a follow-up note first, since these can sometimes get caught in the flow of emails, particularly for busy individuals (which most Kellogg alumni would likely be).

Hi, I applied the R2 and submitted part I and II on the due day.
I haven't schedule the interview yet, because I want to visit both schools in Chicago on the same trip if I get the interview from the other one. (Too far away from Chicago)

So, by what time I should call them and schedule the interview?
