My fear stems from the fact that I am a reapplicant and I was rejected without an interview last year.
What would you suggest for such a case?
Slightly different then the other posts of fears of being waived. I think there are 4 options here.
Option 1: is to do everything to get an interview done without being waived. Not sure how much of this you can control. I do suggesting calling admissions, letting them know you are flexible and see if that helps. Odds are they are not going to ask anyone to travel for an interview, so I do not know what you can do their.
Option 2: Only sure fire way to get an interview is to travel to the states and interview on campus. I know there is a huge cost associated with it, but it would guarantee the interview.
The next 2 are a bit more idealistic, so bare with me.
Option 3: Kellogg sees you are a re-applicant and realizes you were not interviewed last year. They prioritize your interview slot and ensured you are not skipped over the initial pass this time to provide you with a holistic review.
Option 4: You have been able to address the gaps they saw last year in your application and you move from not even being a fringe candidate to being a fringe or sure fire candidate baring the interview. You get the interview request either before waiver (which really would not fall into this option) or get the invite after waiver.
Good luck with whichever option you choose! Keep us posted on how it works out
