Don't worry about it! All that means is that Kellogg does not have any alumni in the area in which you are located...it won't negatively affect your application at all!

Received an interview waiver. Don't know if anyone ever gets admitted to Kellogg without an interview.

Yup. I am from Mumbai as well. My interview got waived too.

Wow! I am from Bangalore and haven't received any notification yet. I suppose we will receive waivers too.

When I went to Kellogg, an adcom told me that if they think an interview will have a material impact on your application, they will set up a Skype interview. However, at the same meeting with an adcom, she said that "a great interview can really bump up a candidate in our mind." The only material benefit to an interview (besides feeling for interpersonal skills), IMO, is that my interview asked me specifically "is there anything not on your application or discussed through our questions that you want admissions to know."...pretty much express an additional pitch to forward to adcoms. Besides that, everything else discussed in my interview was on my application. Good luck to everyone out in India who received a waiver. Im sure many of you will still get great news!

Reposting a previous post of mine for the benefit of those who wish to understand how interview waivers and the like work..
---------
In India, as you all must be aware, applicants for each round SIGNIFICANTLY outnumber the alums. Hence only a very few folks actually get an f-t-f interview with an alum.

From my experience, the way it goes for most of the Indian applicants (and other areas where concentration of alums is very low) is something like this -
1. All the folks submit an off-campus interview request
2. The very few folks that ad com can match up with alums are taken care off.
3. All the others are put into a pile of 'waiting to be interviewed'
4. All these folks receive a letter indicating an 'interview waiver' (usually post part-2 deadline) which basically states that due to overwhelming demand in your area, your interview cannot be scheduled and that if additional information is needed to render a decision, either a telephonic interview or a f-t-f interview with an alum will be scheduled...
5. So now comes the interesting part...if your credentials (work ex, GPA, GMAT etc.) don't make you an auto-reject for some reason, you will most likely be sent a request to schedule a telephonic interview. So you better be praying hard to get this email from Kellogg coz if you don't get it, you can be rest assured of a ding..
6. Once the telephonic interview is conducted, your application is reviewed and the normal application process flow continues..

Just thought of sharing this so that people don't speculate wildly...I know it's hard not to speculate when official information is so scarce...Been there, done that..

Ok so just received a waiver too. I am from Bangalore.

Don't know what to make out of it. From all reports, it seems like a negative thing. :(

My status is still "After Part II of your application has been submitted, the next update will confirm whether or not all application materials have been received..."

Does this mean they haven't read my application yet?

My interview has completed for two weeks, and my status is still the same...What does this mean...?

Has anyone's status changed after completing an interview?

I completed an on-campus interview at the beginning of this month, but my application status doesn't reflect my interview being complete. It just says "Submitted" under part 1 & 2.

Should my "completed interview status" be reflected in my application somewhere?

You'd think they'd add something about your interview being complete on the main application page....

I haven't completed my interview yet, but when I go to the status page it says that the next update will be a decision to admit, reject, or waitlist

My status is as follows:

All the required elements of your application are complete.

If your interview has been completed, the application has been submitted for review to the admissions committee. If your interview has not been conducted, the application will be submitted to the admissions committee upon completion of the interview. The next status check update will be the admission decision (Admit, Waitlist or Deny).

Since my interview is complete, I assume my app has been submitted for review.

same here. so, some people have suggested we could hear back as soon as "after-thanksgiving holiday" - any confirmation on that?

I heard the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, but that was 4 years ago and with a different dean and director of admissions. If you are done with everything (application, recs, interview, etc) the next thing you will hear from the school is their decision on your application (admit, rejection, or WL).
