I had mine and it went well! It was much more relaxed than I was expecting and my interviewer was really encouraging. Just know why LBS and what your career plan is and how you're gonna execute that plan, and you'll do great.

Feel free to pm me if you have any specific questions or want to know my stats! I honestly don't know what the committee looks for, but I'd say just explain away any noticeable flaws's/weaknesses (gmat score, gpa, work experience. etc) in your essay.

Hey guys,

I am extremely anxious and would like some honest opinions. Looking to apply for R3 LBS MFA program

Profile:
East Asian male

LSE undergraduate (Math and Econs) - 3rd Class

6 months of IB Tech in London, 2 summers in IB in London.

GMAT FE - 100th percentile 745 (Q90), CFA level 1, planning on taking level 2.

EC - National level sports (football and T&F), math comps, debate comps, pianist, volunteering overseas

Do I stand a chance despite my undergraduate grades? I want to know whether I can compensate it with my GMAT and CFA. Reason for my poor undergraduate was because of own fault and lack focus while taking the hardest possible modules. Will defo write a more convincing story for it.

Please give any feedback, I’m so anxious. Would I get auto rejected? What else can I do besides ofc applying?

You may want to submit your application for review directly to LBS. They have their CV review and I think they still have some online and in-person events where you can talk directly with the recruitment team.

The only concern I have is that the minimum required grade is 2:1, but with the application form there is a section where they ask whether or not your grades reflect your true potential/talent or something like that, so you can fill it in there.

Considering everything else except your grade is amazing, you might get leeway. Is the LSE grade final? Or is it still predicted?

Appreciate the reply! Unfortunately, it is final.

I have sent it over to the admissions team and they have given me the green light to apply. I think I would probably just network around to speak with alumnis and current students to beef up my essay. Still worried as I don't think I have met anyone with a similar profile before trying to do this.
