Any idea which international bank will be providing the student loans? My guess is HSBC.

HSBC yesterday announced that it is pulling out of many US operations including Auto loans and Home loans.So might not be HSBC.

well I guess we are going to be all quiet here until the 15th for the official decisions.

My best guess is that we will have about 3 days of phone calls starting on the 11th for admitted students.

Could start on the 10th.

Wow! looks like R2 was really really flat for them. Its too soon to compute their R1 yield though but if they are taking such drastic measures then there must be some hard evidence/data that they are going by.

The only thread that refers to this is the "Marriott vs Ross" one. Perhaps FN's friend is the same person i.e. "DonVanRamby" on BW?

Reviewing dinged applicants from R1 along with R2 and R1 waitlisters seems a bit incredulous to me. What is next - calling admits ala Kellogg & denying them? :lol:

Update: I read michimoby's post further along that thread. I have reason to believe him so this might not be an isolate case after all...

I can believe it. I just got an email from Johnson stating that they've secured loans for internationals and...

When I visited Cornell last summer I was told "Apply to Round 1, 2 or 3. There will be NO spots in round 4."

Well, now it appears they'll be awarding scholarships in round 4! It sounds like this year's admissions didn't work out as expected.
