Very random - got an email from MIT's Center for Transportation & Logistics inviting me to apply for the following programs:
MLOG: Master of Engineering in Logistics Program in Cambridge, Massachusetts
ZLOG: Master of Engineering in Logistics Program in Zaragoza, Spain

The email tries pretty hard to sell the Master's programs - interesting that they're pushing the supply-chain degrees. :P

Got it too. And I already have a masters in systems engineering! Glad to know my file got so meticulously evaluated....

Although the whole 'no reason to fill out an app, just email XX@mit.edu' caveat tempts me.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know when the commitment date for R1 acceptees is?

I feel like it's been alluded that for R2, MIT looks at how many R1 people are going to accept...how can they tell that so soon?

I heard app volumes are down at Kellogg based on adcom. I guess this is the general trend. If yes, then it is good for R2 at MIT.

I thought it was interesting that adcom said that apps were up this year, and may have even dropped a stat about R1, but never explicitly said that R2 apps were up. I wanted to ask, but didn't want to be "that guy." :oops:

Why would they send invites to those in their own region first? Shouldn't people with the greatest travel distance be invited early, and not vice versa?

I think that's weird too. And what about the internationals? I guess that's just the way the adcom's schedule broke down?

Maybe we can expect DC to be next, then all the Southern cities out to the West...Sloan road trip? :-D
