I'm sorry to hear that, guys! :(

This is terrifying, I haven't got my ding yet. It's probably just lagging, like all my MIT mail. Miserable, it's 3 20 am where I am. I SHOULD BE ASLEEP!

I'm also getting a blank page. First assumed it was a ding but hopefully isn't. Can someone who has the same problem please notify if they open the page. Thanks!

A quick look at some of your profiles tells me that you're probably dinged because you're the sorts who probably would've gotten into HBS/Stanford etc. Yield issue, I'm guessing.

I received no email (other than a reminder of the R2 deadline?!!!), and my application status still just says 'submitted'. Nothing's changed. *sigh*

It's driving me crazy.

Ding!

Good news is I don't have to go through the "OMG, is there something wrong with my essays. Should I revamp everything phase?!" for two reasons:

1) Sloan's questions, especially the cover letter, don't really overlap with other schools (except Stanford).
2) The essays I churned out after Sloan were a lot better.

I'm still upbeat and optimistic! Just feel bad for all the Sloanie current students/alumni friends who were all supporting me and helping me get in. I felt like I let them down a bit. Regardless, moving on. :moped

I would hope that is not true. I am a 770 GMAT/4.0 GPA ding, and Sloan was my top choice. Did not even apply to H/S. Worked on my app for over 3 months.

Congrats to those who have what Sloan is looking for.

How rude is it for MIT to send me propaganda for their MBA program 30 minutes after sending me a rejection? just pour a little more salt onto that raw wound.

Standard behavior for admissions committees, imho.

It probably is, seeing as there's probably no other good reason to ding someone with a 770/4.0 who most likely also wrote decent essays and has a great overall app. Schools worry about yield. I can tell from your nickname that you are pretty mad at Sloan.

The bottomline is that it's not a completely objective process, no school is a sure shot. You should definitely do R2 apps.

If you're having problems reading the actual letter I would try to open it in a different browser. I used Firefox at first and was not able to open up the rejection letter; however, Internet Explorer worked fine.

Good luck to everyone - signing off this thread.
