I'm IN! Yess!
They did ask me to take an Economics course. I wonder why that is - isn't the CFA enough? It has a section on Economics..
Also...anyone else hear about scholarships?

First of all, a hearty congrats to all the admits. You guys deserve it! Sorry to anyone dinged--I definitely feel your pain. And to my fellow waitlisters, well, haha... it is what it is I guess. Hopefully some of us can convert.

@CarpathianRidge - Thanks man. Congrats on your admit and HBS admit. Way to represent the Vets!

@closetsnob - Glad someone appreciates the ORLY? haha. Congrats on your admit, and thanks for the kind words.

(I'll wait for people to post their results and update roll call in a few days)

Dinged!

Was anticipating a deferral after such a long wait!

Anyways, congrats to all who have been admitted as well as waitlisted.

Felt great to share this space with you guys.

Huh? So if you don't get an A in econ, then they revoke your admissions?

Hello fellow admits...

I'm wondering about those of you who were asked to take an Econ course. Was the text that requested such in your offer letter? My background is engineering, I took a macro econ course in 3rd year. There was no mention of economics in my offer letter. I'm wondering if I missed it though.......

congrats to all who are in - and good luck again to those who are still in purgatory

If it wasn't mentioned then you don't have to take it. It was pretty clear in the letter..

I am a bit confused with the admitted students website and a current student's perspective would be helpful here.
As far as I understand, financial aid award process workes as follows:

- Accept the offer of admission and pay the 3000 $ deposit
- Apply for financial aid
- Find out the fellowship/scholarship and loan you've been awarded in the financial aid letter

Is this how it works?

Congrats to all admitted and my wishes are with those waitlisted. I'm a Doctor ( Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) and have been asked to take the Principle of Economics course with Grade A.

Any further instructions on how to go about it?

Also, all you techies, may we have a facebook group for MIT Class of 2013 ! :)

If the students call me I'll ask them because I'm curious too. Waiting for the financial aid letter to learn about scholarships/fellowships seems really, really odd to me.

Asking this and then sharing the answer would be great dalillama. I hope the answer will be that we will see scholarship notifications (if there is any) in the admitted mail package (if there is such a package)
