I applied in R2 and got the appstat mail providing me with login details for application status site!! But I can't see the status anywhere!! Will it show only when the status changes!!

Hi sachdix, I applied R2 too (15th Nov) and got the login as well. I think the landing page is the actual "status site". The whole blurb of text saying "...We have received your application and it is being presented to the Admissions Committee for review..." is the "status".

Anyone else can correct me if I am wrong..

I guess so too..
Also, I had my video delivered to adcom on 14th Nov through a current student.. Will I get an acknowledgement of the same?

I think that's right - the status is the blurb that the adcom are reviewing the app.

Hi everyone,

I see that many of us are still waiting for an interview invite/(all the other bad news).

Does anyone have any idea how many invites have gone out or anything else that would make us fell better for a while? :D

Good luck everyone!

I know I'm starting to get nervous too! I tried looking for hope in last year's thread. I thought maybe a mass amount went out in the last two weeks. There were definitely interview invites going out, but not as many as I'd like to feel comfortable.

Did you see anyone who got invited on the exact date of notification?

Has Stern sent out any Dinks yet? I thought Stern had a rolling process where they send both interview invites as well as Dinks throughout the season, not just on deadline day???

Ok based on my super sleuthing, here is what I have gathered:

*Last year they were sending out rejections and waitlists, as well as interview invites, before the December 15th deadline (however, we haven't heard of a rejection yet, so this may not be happening this year)
*Last year, people that received interview invites early on, heard about their admission decisions (accepted/rejected) within 3 weeks of their interview, even if their interview was early November (once again we haven't heard of anyone that received an early invite with a final decision
*The first week of December, Stern sent out an email saying they were opening up more slots for interviews in January (I don't know if this went to everyone or people already invited) (if it's the same, we should expect this next week)
*Last year, they thought Wednesday was a magical interview invite day
*A R2 person got their invite before the December 15th deadline, while other R1 people were still waiting
*Then most people got their decision on December 13th. However, I'm fairly certain this is because December 15th was a Sunday. This week it is Monday. So we'll probably hear Monday.
*Interview invites came out last year up until December 13th (see above^^)
*The admissions office was closed from the Friday after decisions to January.

This is perfect, thanks! I was really surprised about the R2 person getting an invite before the R1 deadline..

Awesome work. Thanks! Don't have a great feeling though, don't know why things have been so slow this year in terms of invites.

Right! I just feel like there haven't been that many interview invitations released, based on the forum. I was hoping that my detective skills would show mass amounts of invites the week or two before, but no such luck.

I think everyone is on their toes at this point. I wonder if overall increase in mba applicants this year along with the drop in ranking from BusinessWeek is affecting their process?

How many more people applied for MBA programs this year? I would think that because the economy is doing better, there would actually be less applicants. People usually go back to school when they aren't able to find a job. Hence spikes in advance degree applicants in 2008 and 2009.

Also, shouldn't the decrease in BusinessWeek rankings actually help our chances and result in more interview invites than previous years?

The increase in applicants is just what I've heard at several schools along with the article below.

I agree with you on the rankings, just curious if this changes their process.

That's an interesting article. Of course it makes me a bit nervous, because this is an incredibly nerve racking process. However, I wonder how much this affects US-applicants. It seems like the article is hinting that the reason for the increased applicants is more foreign citizens are applying. I'm interested to see if the percentage of international students for some of the big schools changes much next year. Right now, most schools are around 1/3 international candidates. If they want to keep it around that percentage, it sounds like this article would be good news for US applicants and bad news for foreign applicants. However, if they increase international candidates to 1/2 the class, the reverse is true.

Guess this all leaves us to do even more speculation in the next two weeks. :-D Only 14.5 days left........

I've decided not to try and interpret any of the numbers and so on. Just keeping my fingers crossed...Stern is one of my big chances. Tuck and Kellogg are just Hail Mary's!

I don't know about Hail Mary's. You are killing it with interviews. It seems like you have a really compelling story. I guess we'll both know in a couple weeks!
