i am from eastern europe and they told me that they will have my interview in London on the 15th. So i am not sure if they sent all the European invitations but they should be sending them very soon..

Hi I've got a question for people already interviewed at NYU -- website lets you sign up for lunch with a current student, but doesn't specify any further. Am I suppose to just show up at the Ad Com office at the scheduled lunch time and they'll assign a student to eat with me? Thanks!

Pretty much, if you schedule it the day of your interview. It will most likely be an MBA2 with a couple of other applicants being interviewed. Not a bad idea to have lunch just before the interview, helps you calm some nerves and gives you excellent fodder for the actual interview conversation.

Are you counting your time in the military as work experience? FWIW, there are people in both the Stern and Columbia MBA classes who were admitted with only 2 years of post-undergrad (U.S.) work experience. If you have a good story and explain why an MBA now might be a good idea, don't write off your chances at either school.

And Brooklyn might be a 15-20 min. subway ride away from Stern if you live right on the A/C or the N/R, but door to door it takes a bit longer. Most people live within walking distance of school. That said, there are a lot of Stern folks that live in South Brooklyn and Williamsburg and it's a very tight community.

I took the GREs again (need GREs for some MPA & Psych programs so just went with one) today and increased about 100 point (roughly 50 by GMAT conversion)...do you think there is value added in calling NYU to update my score information? Does anyone have any experience in this arena?

I interviewed this weekend with Stern and it was a great experience. In preparation for the interview, it helped me to see what other people went through, so I thought I'd post the questions I got, pretty straight forward actually:

1) Walk me through your resume.
2) How is an MBA going to get you closer to your goals (he already knew my goals)
3) Why now?
4) Why Stern and not Columbia or another MBA program in the area?
5) What kind of internship are you going to pursue and how will that get you closer to your goal?
6) What companies are you looking at?
7) What if this plan doesn't work out?
8) Do you have any questions for me?

That was pretty much it. Now that it is over, I feel much more at ease. Here's hoping for a good outcome in a couple of weeks.

Definitely still hope. I submitted on 1/15 and received an interview invite yesterday (2/28). I didn't send in an official GMAT score report with the original application, so that may have delayed the process since they had to send me an email reminder to do so.

Are the interviews for R2 held on campus only or can candidates request for off-campus/skype/tel interviews?

Hi,

I am an applicant from India. Applied on the date of the R2 deadline.

Is it all over for Indians since the interview date for india is March 11th. Or should we wait till Apr 1?

they will held offcampus interviews in 3 hub locations; London, India and China.
Otherwise they told that they do phone/skype very rarely

london interviews will be held on the 15-16th of March
on campus can be held till the end of the month

got an invite! located in the northeast - applied 1/15

there were very few slots left :-/ i won't get to have lunch with a student/attend a class since I don't want to iv right before the 4/1 notification date.

Congrats. You were able to see how many spots were left? How many about?

^^ got an email from NYU. I got to pick which date/time I want to IV and basically the only slots left are the ones 3/29-3/31 and the date that I picked which is in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure how many total slots are left since they may do more than 1 IV in 1 slot.

This waiting is getting kind of ridiculous. They haven't even viewed my essay 3 on youtube yet. I'm located in the US and submitted on 1/10. However, I didn't submit my official GMAT scores until after I got the status e-mail saying they were missing. Not sure what impact that had. I had to e-mail them to get my status check website to reflect my GMAT scores being received. I feel like e-mailing them to confirm I'm still being considered for round 2. Or do you think that's a bad move? Anyone else still waiting for their video to be viewed?
