Sorry to hear about the ding.....I just got waitlisted at Booth. Not much better. Are you applying to Stern? I haven't got an interview yet and am thus scrambling to find some schools to apply Round 2.

sorry to hear about your ding. i had an interview that went really well and got a ding at a school that was my first choice. i found out that one of my coworkers from my previous job got in last year. i couldn't believe it. in every quantifiable measure, i would consider myself a stronger candidate... obviously i can't say for certain with the essays, but i was shocked and a bit angry.

anyway, my point is, the admissions process is a total crapshoot. who can really explain their "process". from our vantage, after getting over a few hurdles (minimum gpa, gmat), they might as well pick names out of a hat. and it's even more difficult for common backgrounds (asian/indian; IT/finance).

good luck

Haha, yeah, being Asian is like so not "minority' in b-school. People keep telling me oh you're an Asian woman you'll get a leg up but all I see at orientations are Asian girls! LOL.

lol!!! asians are considered to be the smartest group...that is why the expectation is much higher....if i would have been an american with the same profile and application, i definitely would have got accepted at booth....

Aw, Stern is great too and you may get that interview invite. I feel like there is still a chance....but I am trying to concentrate on my R2 app to Georgetown because that probably is the most realistic for me! :)

isn't it true that Georgetown doesn't provide any loan assistance to international students?
