I respect anyone in the CFA Program and have a lot of respect for the process. I know how hard it is having completed all three of the exams. To elaborate on why I told you I think signing up for the CFA Level II exam is not worth mentiong, I feel that signing up for the exam is a lot different than passing it. If someone were to sign up for level I today, he or she could say they are a level I candidate. I was not trying to offend you. I was simply trying to give my advice since you asked the forum. You obviously feel it is worth mentioning and I support your decision. Again, I was not trying to insult you and I wish you the best. Best of luck to you.

I would not hesitate to shoot them a brief e-mail and use the opp. to wish my best for the holiday season 8-)

nicely done

I did email them. I added in a few important things i've been doing at work. At best it gives me an edge, at worst they see that I am trying to do my best to impress them.... which i am

Edit - Also, at least the CFA Institute makes a big deal of calling yourself a CFA candidate, or even associating yourself with the CFA designation if you are not registered. Your nick being bayareaCFA, i'm sure you did well in Ethics & Codes of Professional Conduct

I assure you your location has absolutely nothing to do with the possible timing of an interview invitation. It's still rather early in the admissions cycle.

no offense meant to you and no offense taken either my friend. of course they know registering in no way implies that i will pass. It might just show some more commitment from my end.

Does anyone who's been admitted to interview during the Women's Day(s) have any thoughts on the prospect? In their email it seems like they prefer us to take that option, but at the same time they're saying they won't hold it against us if we don't.

Thoughts?

I opted for an earlier interview date instead of the Diversity Weekend, and a member of AdCom just e-mailed me asking if I'd like to attend the Women's Weekend instead of the regular interview I just scheduled. I think this is a glaring indicator that they really would rather you attend one of these events if possible, especially if you live in NYC. While I don't think it can hurt you to opt-out, I get the feeling it won't help your perceived interest in the school...

It is so nice of you to comfort me.

But as I notice, NYU send out invites in this manner:

NY - Other areas in the U.S. - international.

OK, as an alum who worked in admissions, I will join the current student who works a lot on the admissions events that you are, quite frankly, talking garbage.

This is another occassion where people are thinking there is a uniform process when there isn't. It is

File Complete ---> file reviewed ----> file reviewed by enough people to make a decision.

Now, how these are allocated to be reviewed is a bit of a mystery, but I am pretty certain it is somewhat random.
