Thanks for your input on this. I am hanging onto a line you posted above (in bold).

In the past I have been pretty upfront during job interviews - asking questions like, "What weaknesses do you think I have?" and "Is there anything holding you back from offering me the job?", so that I can address any issues the interviewer may have with my candidacy.

Is this approach too direct for an MBA interview? Looking at the your comment (in bold) I think it's fine, but I wanted to get your opinion.

Thanks!

I wouldn't be so pushy - it won't be that style of interview. It is more that you should think about the question. some you can prepare for, but you need to think what they are looking for in you. The interview may be used to address some concerns with the application, or may just be a check that you have a head.

Remember that Stern, and nearly all business schools, pride themselves on a sense of community and a level of teamwork. Sure, you are expected to be driven, but I would be wary of coming across aggressive. In fact, I think that would be quite bad (personal opinion based on my own style perhaps). Just read how the interview is going - it is most likely going to be aimed at making you comfortable for a chat, not testing you.

My comment about the place being there is more factual. You get an interview with a view to admittance. At Stern, it is more direct - rather than being compared against the whole group in one big admission decision, the rolling basis puts it much more on you and how suited you are to be offered a place. If that makes sense.

Past experience suggests there will be. My guess is we'll see some invites coming out until the end of next week. The admissions office reopens tomorrow, so we'll see...

Same for me, 3 weeks on Thursday. I asked my interviewer and she said that the winter break wouldn't be included in the time period so tack on another 12 or so days.

I thought I was stressed out before waiting for the interview invite. I can only imagine that the post-interview wait is 100x worse lol. (Not looking fwd to it)

It wasn't easy. It was 2 very long weeks for me.

Now I think about this whole MBA application process... waiting for your GMAT score was probably the easiest wait... the wait was like... 5 second?

Yep, the wait is definitely killer... looks like from the people that got in this year that a lot of the acceptance emails have gone out around 5 EST or so. Here's hoping for some good news this afternoon...

I don't think there will be any acceptance emails today, they're busy working on some more interview invitations

Hmm, I thought Stern would make a phone call. It's definitely email notification? 3 weeks for me since interview tomorrow so I'm also anxiously waiting as well. Good luck guys.

I got my acceptance email at 5:22PM excactly 2 weeks after my interview date. It looked quite like one of those "thanks you for your money, try again" emails from some other school. I followed the link to the website, logged in, then had to click again to view the letter. I got a call/voicemail the next day from my interviewer, a member of adcom.

don't lose hope. if you're waiting on a decision or an interview invite, obviously you've already done everything in your own power. i think the best way to be productive during this time is to start working on additional apps.
